Throwback Thursday

Oh my goodness, y'all can never say that I hold back with the tacky photos!  This was taken inside my first home in Mississippi back in the early 90's...during my second phase of the "Dorothy Hamill hairdo".  There is so much tackiness going on here...that tacky easy chair my Mama talked me into buying, those ruffled panels on the door, the country-style Christmas stockings, and that Christmas sweater!  Lord have mercy.  Now I do wish I hadn't got rid of that plaid skirt!  I would still wear it now.

More of the same...I must tell y'all that I loved these jogging suits back in the day.  My late friend Teresa Jane and I both had the same one!  We loved them and wore them all the time.  Of course back then I never jogged at all.  In fact, I was quite the couch potato.

Saying Goodbye to Summer

Going way back to the 80's.  Living the life.  Strolling my home beach...Morningstar Beach at The Frenchman's Reef in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.  Wearing a lavender one-piece bathing suit that needed to be pulled up at the top!

Summer's almost over y'all!  Hope you can enjoy one more trip to the beach.  I'll be working hard this weekend putting away all my white pants, white shoes, and white pocketbooks.  You can read my "After Labor Day Fashion Rules" here.  I'm excited about Autumn!

Throwback Thursday

This photo was taken by the pool at a hotel in Nice, France in the mid 80's.  I absolutely hate flying since September 2011, but I do believe I would down a tranquilizer to get on a plane bound for France.  I absolutely love the French and the Italian Riviera.  If husband hits lottery...summer home in France!

I hope that y'all were able to travel to a special place this summer and that you made memories that will last for a lifetime!

Going way back to my high school days at Richmond Academy, Augusta, Georgia...11th grade.  That's me on the far right of the back row!  I had a "flip do!"  These uniforms were purple and white with a white script monogram "ARC."

Hands down...one of the silliest outfits I ever wore!  At the time, I thought it was a good idea.   This photo was taken at some little hole-in-the-wall place in the Caribbean...1980.    Lord have mercy!

Bermuda...1982  "HERE'S WHAT I WORE"  This was one of my favorite sundresses evah!  I believe it was a Lanz...green with yellow daisies.  I bought it at the Casual Hut in Daniel Village in Augusta...THE place to shop in Augusta, back in the day!  I wore this dress all the time.  In this photo, I'm wearing my favorite hair accessory at that time, a Masters sun visor.  I'm also wearing the evah-popular memory beads {add-a-bead} necklace, my gold Rolex, and a tacky "Janice" necklace [short-lived fad}.

Celebrating My Birthday Today!

Going back to a birthday many years ago...at the house on Magnolia Drive in Augusta.  With my friend Judy Moody Monsalvatge on the left.  A prissy birthday tea hosted by Mama, complete with a silver punchbowl--in the background!

Today my birthday was truly "All About ME!!!  I used this festive dinnerware by Fiestaware all day!

Started off the day with some "Clean Living" food and green tea... 

Headed out for an early dinner..."Here's What I Wore" 
The skirt is the 'Turquoise Laroc Panel, by Lilly and with a plain white tee.

My Accessories:  The coral and aqua monogrammed necklace is from The Pink Monogram, the bracelet is from The Snappy Turtle.  I wore Chanel No. 5, carried my white iPhone cover, my lipstick is 'Marigold' by Elizabeth Arden.  The white sandals are Jack Rogers and I wore my pearl earrings, 'Oyster Perpetual' Rolex, and 'Eternity' wedding band, by Cartier.

Serving cherry-topped chocolate cupcakes and wearing my Jessie Steele Cherry Cupcakes 'Audrey' apron...the same retro chic apron worn by Charlotte in SATC 2!

Cupcake themed boxes by Wilton to transport cupcakes for my little friends!

Definitely will be out shopping tomorrow with my birthday cash!!!

Flashback to 1979...Working on the tss Carnivale.  My friend Melba is on the left.  I'm pretty sure I remember that she loved this sundress I wore back then.  She always said I looked like I was going to a picnic instead of a disco!  It was a little red gingham number.  I loved gingham even way back in the day!

Since I'm in Savannah today with my best friend Joy, I thought y'all might like to see how we both dresssed...back in the middle 80's...still on the cruise ships.  In this photo, I am with my husband Ken and Miss Joy.

I was wearing a floor length straight, black silk skirt and my favorite piece during that era...my silver Whiting and Davis top.  Of course I had the purse and the earrings to match...all gifts from husband!  Whiting and Davis was my obsession during that time!

Miss Joy was wearing a gold lame dress with a lot of ruffles...kinda still in style today!

Husband was wearing a dinner jacket, bowtie, and cufflinks...of course!
