Tybee Island with BF Joy

I'm back from my trip to Georgia...actually I'm on the road again today driving over to my Mama's sister's house in Sarasota.  I thought y'all might like to see some photos of my recent trip up to Tybee Island {formerly known as Savannah Beach, Georgia}.  My BF Joy has moved into a darling beach cottage just about 4 doors down from the ocean!
"HERE'S WHAT I WORE" on the 6 hour roadtrip to be Tybee Island...my comfy "Hey Y'all" tee with khaki Bermudas.
I've had this cute little tee forever...'cuz it's cute and Southern!

My Accessories:  Lime green pony cap monogrammed in pink, white iPhone cover monogrammed in pink, Chanel sunglasses and pink croakies monogrammed in pink, pink and lime green Jack Rogers, a Lilly-fied pony flower, 'Oyster Perpetual' Rolex, pearl necklace and earrings, and 'Eternity' wedding band by Cartier.

I found this cute Lilly-fied basket purse on Re-Lilly last year.  I get a lot of compliments when I use it...everyone wants to make one!

Here I am with my BF Miss Joy...we've been friends since 1971 back in our hometown of Augusta.
One of my outfits at the beach...I'm wearing 'Malibu vintage shorts' by Lilly and tunic by Valerie Bertinelli.  Of course, my beach flip flops are turquoise and lime green.

Another one of my outfits at the beach...The shift is 'Cape Cod Blue Fresh Fish' by Lilly.

My accessories with the shift:  White Bermuda Bag, white 'Revas' by Tory Burch, white grosgrain pony bow, white iPhone cover, Miss Joy's Lilly 'Squeeze', Rolex 'Oyster Perpetual' watch, pearl necklace and earrings, and 'Eternity' wedding band by Cartier.

Miss Joy normally dresses in the same colors {turquoise, hot pink, and lime green} all the time...but this night she wore a black ruffle J Crew dress with cute black flip flops!  Miss Joy is a HUGE J Crew fan!!!

Here's a partial view of the front of her beach cottage...

The courtyard is decorated with her junkin' finds...all in her favorite colors!  It's a perfect spot to relax and people watch those coming and going to the beach.

Love this little bench!

Welcome to Miss Joy's bright and cheerful beach cottage. Joy operates Tybee Joy Vacation Rentals and has the cutest beach cottages on Tybee Island.  I spent a few days in "The Life of Tybee Joy" and trust me, she personally oversees the rental and upkeep of every cottage she manages.  Her properties are decorated with special touches of Joy's design and trust me, after seeing some of them, I wanted to go home and throw out all my dark stuff and start over, with Joy as my decorator.

Love this table in her foyer...

A pink sofa...LOVE this!  I spy a Lilly Pulitzer blanket on the back of the sofa.  Y'all will see more of that blanket from Miss Janice later.

All her favorite colors on the coffee table...with a splash of zebra print thrown in.

I was snapping photos with my iPhone and really didn't capture the colors of the dining room...it also has a view of the ocean!!!

This area is located in a sunroom, which Miss Joy uses as her home office.

Love the colors of chest, lamp, and Lilly canvas print in the hallway area.

A beautiful vintage chandelier and pretty Secretary...like everything in Joy's cottage, she refurbished these items herself.

LOVE Joy's bedroom and the girl can make beds look so cute!  I promise y'all, she has an unbelieveable amount of linens on hand to switch and swap in her rentals to make them all cottage-y and cozy!

But wait, since I left there a little over a week ago, she has changed her bedding...complete with new pictures and new rugs!

Love all the colors on the nightstand...I spy a Mary Kay Andrews book there!

Another cute little table in the bedroom...

Beachy-fied bath area...

This is one of the twin beds in the room where I stayed...

When I turned the quilt back, I discovered these fun red polka dot sheets.  Of course, that night I googled "polka dot sheets" for my home!!!

I hope you have enjoyed the tour of my friend Joy's home!  You can follow her on Twitter here and "like" her Facebook page here!

Happy Times!

So it's time for a little joy in my life!  I've talked about my friend of 40 years {Miss Joy} before and showed y'all her fabulous beach cottage, remember?  Well, Joy's son Sean just graduated, with highest honors, from Georgia Tech.  Joy drove up to Atlanta from Savannah to be with him last weekend on his special day.  After some well-deserved celebrating with his friends back in Savannah and then spending some time with his Daddy waaaay over in Finland, Sean will be moving to Charlotte, North Carolina to start his job as a Quantitative Financial Analyst.  Lord have mercy, Joy and I had to google that...and we still don't know what it is!

My friend Joy with her son Sean...

Anyway, I love my friend Joy...we were roommates for a short while as young girls back in Augusta, we worked on cruise ships together for many years, Joy was a Bridesmaid in my wedding, and we both have something HUGE in common...we are SHOPAHOLICS!  I'm looking forward to visiting with Joy later this month at her new beach place on Tybee Island, just outside Savannah.

Miss Janice and Miss Joy

More JOY!!!  I recently attended the confirmation of my friend Lane's little girls...Melanie and Leslie.  They looked like little princesses on their special day!  God's blessings to both of these girls as they begin the spiritual journey in their lives!

Miss Leslie and Miss Melanie

My friend Lane is into baking cakes now...and she created this special beauty for the girls at the fabulous dinner which followed the service.  The top layer is strawberry and the bottom layer is red velvet!  The cake was iced with fondant and I was, of course, very impressed with Lane's cake flower making skills!

I gave the girls sterling monogrammed earrings from The Pink Monogram...something they can keep forever!

"Here's What I Wore" to the Confirmation...The shift is the 'Tutti Fruitti' pattern by Lilly and the aqua cardi is also by Lilly...love the bright pattern!
My Accessories...The wristlet is by Tory Burch and Revas by Tory Burch.

Charm bracelet, Chanel hair barrette, aqua iPhone cover, monogram necklace, earrings, & ring, 'Eternity' wedding band by Cartier, and 'Love' bracelet (gift from husband 25 years ago).

Thank you for visiting with me today and have a fabulous week y'all!

Joy's Beach Cottage

Super busy today! Finishing up Christmas shopping, completing all the Christmas decos, answering e-mails, and cooking for a Potluck Supper. I wanted to show y'all some of the photos of my recent trip to Savannah to visit with my friend Joy. Miss Joy operates her own business Tybee Joy Vacation Rentals in Tybee Island, near Savannah, Georgia. Miss Joy offers a variety of home and condo rentals for families and friends to make "joyful memories" together! The homes are decorated with Southern coastal charm, equipped with wi-fi, and some are pet-friendly and equipped with elevators. Check out Miss Joy's website and make Tybee Island your next beach vacation destination.

Joy was the perfect hostess! When I arrived, she presented me with the most precious gifts. We scooted the entire time I was there...
Miss Janice and Miss Joy waiting to dine at Paula Deen's "Lady & Sons" restaurant...

We enjoyed all foods...Southern and fried!

If you are ever in Savannah, stop in to shop at The Paris Market...they have the best Hot Chocolate Bar ever! I bought some cute stuff there to use in my "Paris in France" decorating theme this year.

Of course, we had to dine at Paula's brother's restaurant, Uncle Bubba's Oyster House...the best chargrilled oysters ever!

Joy took me inside Paula Deen's "Y'all Come Inn" cottage on Tybee Island...
Here I am with "Cardboard Paula" inside the kitchen of her rental cottage...

So, here are some photos of "Miss Joy's Beach Cottage". You can't see it {'cuz I'm not very good with photos}, but Joy's front door is lime green!

This is my friend Joy with her son Sean...he's a senior at Georgia Tech in Atlanta...

The foyer...with a table and mirror Joy painted....in shades of coastal blue!

The living room...lime green and chocolate brown walls. All the colors are perfectly blended for a fresh beach cottage feel! Miss Joy's furniture is all from Ikea or thrift store purchases refinished by her...
The sofa from Ikea with bright colored throw pillows...y'all she also has the light pink sofa cover...Lord have mercy!

Pretty coastal coffee table...

Love the basket, full of bright accent pieces...and check out the pink & green throw rug!
The stockings were hung...

An Ikea chair by the window...the area is all beached-up!

All her televisions are white y'all! That cracks me up:)
Another refinished table and mirror...

Look at her darling Christmas tree, with the coastal theme!
A coastal themed tree skirt...

A few of the coastal-themed ornaments and some that blend with her color theme...

Like my house and most other cottages, Joy's rooms are small. Here's the little kitchen...

The dining area...
Love this china cabinet! It's another refinished piece by Miss Joy:)
An old chandy that she refinished and then added the crytals...

Looking outside to the backyard. Autumn has arrived! I love her little "Painter's Shed" in the back of the photo...

Her coastal themed office...
Refinished chair and cute blue storage cabinet, also refinished by Joy...
Lime and turquoise in the guest room...
Cute shower curtain...oh-so cheery!

Coastal art and also the inspiration for her new company logo...

Lilly canvas art in the bedroom...

More Lilly canvas art to brighten the hallway...
Joy's bed...don't y'all just love it. All my photos were taken with my iPhone and don't capture the bright cheery colors. But the entire house is decorated in turquoise, lime green, and pink!!!
Cute little nightstand in the bedroom...

LOVE this frilly bedskirt!!!

Well, thank y'all for visiting with me today. I'm seriously finishing up Christmas stuff today and will post some photos soon of my Christmas decos. Don't get too excited:) It's not all that y'all!!!
