Halloween at the Roost

Here's a few photos from Halloween. Yesterday morning we had some sweets...we were recuperating from the Florida State - Louisville game on Thursday night.

I put up a black Halloween tree this year.  Our porch is not as big as the one we had in Florida, but whatever!  (less to clean, right?)

I dressed up the skeleton to scare those visiting the guestroom.

Last night I served hot apple cider with cookies, and of course Merlot and Chardonnay to the adults...they need treats too!

We weren't really sure what the trick-or-treat turnout would be...but I had my sign ready.  Well, we had a huge crowd and it was freezing y'all!  (Note to self, have a fire pit in the front yard next year)  Also, I'll need to step up my game, because this neighborhood is a magnet for trick-or-treaters.

Hope y'all had fun celebrating the spooky night!

Halloween Decor

Now that our house is yellow with turquoise and hot pink accents on the front porch, I decided to go with the colors turquoise and orange for Halloween.  The wreaths and tree were spray painted to match the color of my cushions on the porch and I added orange mesh ribbon bows...take a peek.

This is my tree this year...minus the black and orange and all the spooky witches from previous years.  Parents always take photos of their children in front of my spooky Halloween tree every year.  I'm guessing they might not be so taken with this tree...but I am!

Today I served lunch on the porch and wore a turquoise polka dot apron {from my Prissy Apron Collection}, monogrammed in orange...with an orange gingham blouse, leggings, and orange Revas.

For the table setting, I used orange plates with turquoise linen napkins, orange pumpkin napkin rings, and turquoise monogrammed goblets.

Kinda coastal...

We are expecting 1,000+ trick-or-treaters again this year and are seriously considering putting Halloween candy on layaway at Walmart!

Thanks for stopping by to visit today.

Halloween Night on the Porch

Whew!  Another Halloween on the porch...at "The Roost!"  Hundreds of youngins {and some not-so-young} paraded up onto the porch for their treats.

There were also treats for the adults...Merlot and Chardonnay!

The first person arrived before the sun went down...at 5:20 p.m.  Lord have mercy!

As the sun was setting, more and more and more arrived.  We have many people who come by every year...to trick or treat and also to take photos of their children by the Halloween tree.

I planned to have enough treats for 600...just in case!  I think I had about 25 candies left when I turned off the porch light at 9:20 p.m.

I'm sure some of the children could have cared less about my monogrammed chevron gift tags!

This girl had the Best Costume of the Night...bridal gown and hat with a veil and painted face.  She was perfection!

Tomorrow the witches will come down off the tree and it will be adorned with turkeys.  That's if I can get out of bed and get it done.

Mademoiselle Coco Chanel was sure missed tonight.  Y'all know she would have had a cute outfit for the evening!  May she rest in peace!

Halloween Supper on the Porch

Over the weekend, I had an impromtu Halloween Supper on the Porch...I used a chevron fabric for the tablecloth with some Halloween dinnerware that I've had for several years.

Only 10 days left until hundreds and hundreds of youngins hit us up for treats!

As this was last-minute, I brought out some of my decos from the inside to use for the centerpiece.  The petite orange tree is decorated with lime green, black, and purple ornaments and with streamers of lime green mesh ribbon.  It's topped off with a little witch's hat from Michael's and flanked with two lime green sequined pumpkins.

The place setting...The lime green chargers are from Michael's and the Halloween dinner plates are from HomeGoods several years ago.  The black iron flatware is from World Market.

Black linen napkins adorned with witch's hat napkin rings...

Halloween Night

Happy Halloween...it's 6:30 p.m. and I believe that the rain is gonna stay away until the youngins get all their loot and go home!

We are on the porch...all ready giving out candy. I'm wearing my candy corn printed apron from my "Prissy Apron Collection" along with a black turtleneck, black jeans, and orange Revas.

Early birds get the best stuff...

The beverage station...
Beverage treats for the adult chaperones!

Outfits and Halloween Decos

Thought y'all might like to see a few of the Autumn/Halloween decos I have out front...I searched high and low for this wreath and finally found an Etsy store here. She designs the cutest wreaths!

I think I'll get a Christmas wreath in the lime and green dots...which is the theme I have planned for the porch again this year.
If you follow me on twitter, you already know about my Halloween tree drama. This is Miss Coco and myself in front of the tree last year...

I put up the tree again this year and last week a tropical storm came through town and blew it down! I had a mess. This photo was taken after I swept up all the broken ornaments.

Well, it's up again...looking a little bit more shabby than I would like.

This is where the UPS boy leaves all my "cute loot!"

Sometimes the loot overflows into this area...

Two slackers on the settee...

I know, kinda lame! :)

A little sunshine on the porch!

Pumpkins and roses...

The birds are NOT happy with me!

LOVE Dexter. I have been fan of the show since DAY ONE!

My new favorite show is PAN AM. Love the girls. Love the clothes. Of course, I love all the prissiness, also. You can bet that I'm holding my pocketbooks just like the girls in the photo below...with my arm angled just so!
Hope y'all have a fabulous week!
