Halloween Night

Happy Halloween...it's 6:30 p.m. and I believe that the rain is gonna stay away until the youngins get all their loot and go home!

We are on the porch...all ready giving out candy. I'm wearing my candy corn printed apron from my "Prissy Apron Collection" along with a black turtleneck, black jeans, and orange Revas.

Pumpkin Pie in a Jar

Last night was "Flamingo Ladies Book Club" night and the book was Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Not sure what the book was about 'cuz I didn't have a chance to read it! In our club, that's okay...we just socialize anyway. I think maybe we mentioned the name of the book and that was all that was said about it, but we had a very nice time...just a wee bit of gossiping and keeping up with what's going on in the neighborhood! I carried Pumpkin Pie in a Jar for the ladies...

If you haven't tried these, they are easy to prepare, delicious, and everyone loves the presentation. I used the Ball wide-mouth, half-pint jars. Then, I used pre-made pie crust to line the inside of the jars.

I then poured in the pumpkin pie mix {I used the recipe from the back of the the Libby canned pumpkin}.

I cut out round cardstock for the labels and added a pumpkin tag with a ribbon.

Not being sure what types of food would be served, I made little pouches for the serveware and attached more tags!

HALLOWEEN NIGHT AT "THE ROOST'

Here's a few photos from our Halloween night here at "The Roost." Husband said there were at least 200 Trick-or-Treaters...it was a very witchy evening...

Miss Coco was on the porch the whole evening...loving every minute! Parents were photographing their children by the Halloween tree all night long!

Funny thing was...the big hit of the night was my adult treats...Chardonnay and sippy cups!

Now I'm onto the Gobble Gobble thing...I'll be back in a couple of days when I've recovered from this evening:)

NIBBLES & BITS SOIREE

I've had some issues with Blogger today...UGH! Finally, I'm able to post these photos from my "Nibbles & Bits Soiree" on Tuesday evening.

First, "HERE'S WHAT I WORE" How cute is the candy corn apron? I love it and felt very Sandra Lee-ish while wearing it...'cuz it coordinated with my tablescape! I was stylin' my orange pumpkin earrings and my orange 'Revas' by Tory Burch.

"HERE'S WHAT MISS COCO WORE" She wore a darling candy corn-motif dress--she wanted to match her mama! Isn't she just too much y'all! {Husband said "she looks old in this photo!" She's only 5...}

I set up the kitchen table and sideboard with some candy, a few veges, dips & cheese, and Halloweened it all up with party printables I found on Etsy. Take a look...

The pumpkin chandelier shades gave the room a 'spooky glow'...

The runner is made with burlap which is all the rage now. I love the look of burlap on a tabletop! A little orange ric-rac border on the ends makes it very Halloween-ish!

Dips, veges, and crackers...
The Creamy Garlic Herb Dip is a Taste of Gourmet product I sell. It makes a great cheese ball or dip. I combined the mix with 8 oz. of cream cheese and 8 oz. of mayo to make a cold dip...easy y'all! There are 2 mixes in the box and the cost is $7.95/box. You can order here.

Plastic flatware, wrapped in paper napkins, and secured with cute labels...Yes y'all, I use plastic tableware and paper napkins!!!

My "Signature Beverage" was a Halloween Punch. I wanted to keep it simple and this recipe is just that...Mix orange juice, unsweet pineapple juice, and ginger ale together and voila...a refreshing drink. {You can sneek in some vodka to make it a little more party-friendly if you must!}

Party favors are a must... I placed Halloween treats in cello bags and added cute printedlabels with Halloween wording to the top...

HALLOWEEN CREATIVE GIFTING

When I was a trick-or-treater, we just carried a pillowcase around the neighborhood and people threw the candy into the case. Well, now I believe that presentation is everything, so here's a few ways I packaged the loot for the youngins.

Last year I celebrated Halloween in my Mississippi home. Our home up there is in a small gated community and I knew that I would not get very many people ringing the doorbell! I came up with a few treats for those who did.

Adorned with a cute black and orange ribbon bow, these miniature orange buckets stuffed with candy were so cute!

"Creepy Crackers" stuffed with candy inside paper towel rolls, wrapped in crepe paper, and secured with spider rings from The Dollar Store. That's right, I shop everywhere y'all, especially The Dollar Store.

"Bat Bags" full of m&m's, from last year's Martha Stewart Halloween collection.

This year, things are gonna be a bit different. I have been informed by a neighbor to expect 400+ trick-or-treaters! What? Yes, that's right...last Halloween, over 400 children chose my "front-porch" community as their must-do place to pick up Halloween loot! So, I've been a busy little witch...getting ready for the big night. Not sure who will be giving all this candy out, but I'm finally finished getting the packages together. This Wednesday evening, I'm having some girlfriends over for a "Witchey Brew & Stew." So, I'm all about the "Witchey-thing" this year!

Plan A: Get 'em while they last! These cute little bags are from this year's Martha Stewart Halloween collection. Full of candy corn, a cute black witch adorns the clear bags embossed with a spooky tree.

Sometimes Plan B is better than Plan A: These cute "Trick-or-Treat" bags are also from this year's Martha Stewart Halloween collection and they are full of miniature candy bars.

When the gift bags are gone, it's back to the old-style...not to worry! We have bags and bags and bags of this stuff!
