Impressions by Carlton Fall Fashion Show and Luncheon

The Carriage House Restaurant was the scene of Impressions by Carlton's annual Fall Fashion Show and Luncheon.  It was my second year to attend and I invited my friend Carol to attend--I'm pretty sure she loved it.  It was a beautiful setting for ladies who love to lunch and shop!

Here's the outfit that I wore and talked about in a post earlier this week.

Joyce Carlton is the owner of Impressions by Carlton in Perry, Georgia.  I have written about Joyce before--She is truly the epitome of a Southern Lady...full of grace and charm and just adorable!  Joyce and her sister are two adorable Southern ladies with the same sweet Southern accents!

Guests were greeted with hot apple cider which was the perfect signature beverage for the day.

The tables were set with an autumn tone...

This is one of the beautiful trees in front of the entrance to the restaurant...It is a Kousa Dogwood tree, which has beautiful white blooms in the spring and pinkish-red berries in the autumn.  The berries from the tree are edible and sometimes used to make jam and wine.

The clippings from the tree were a beautiful complement to the orange and black table linens.

Joyce always gets a large crowd at her fall event...it was evident that everyone in the room admires her so!

The models are friends, employees, and customers of Carlton's.

Today I'm enjoying the clippings that would have been discarded...wondering if I need a Kousa Dogwood in my yard!

Impressions by Carlton is just off Interstate 75, south of Macon, Georgia in historic downtown Perry--912 Carroll Street, 478.987.4511.  Stop in and check out their cute loot y'all!

Lilly Pulitzer Agenda

I always get excited about the Fall season.  I've been busy finding a few new pieces to add to my Fall wardrobe and organizing my new agenda.    I'm still loving the "Tusk n Sun" print Lilly Pulitzer agenda and chose it for the second year in a row.  Being an extremely organized person, I have notes, lists, and appointment times for every single day.  These are some of my agenda planning tools.

In addition to my agenda, I also have the Lilly Pulitzer notebook, with a "To-Do" list for each day.  Rarely do I cross off everything on the list...the items usually carry over to the next day and the days after that!

I do not leave home without my iPad, iPhone, agenda, or notebook!  This Lilly Pulitzer notebook folio in the 'Wild Confetti' print can hold it all.  It is truly a must-have!

Of course I love to priss up my agenda.  Lilly Pulitzer includes a sheet of Lilly stickers inside their agendas and you can buy more of their stickers online.

The Preppy Planner has the cutest Lilly-inspired stickers ever!

Cute Loot Booth

So now I have a booth at a local vintage store...Miss Janice's Cute Loot.  Well, it's not really a booth.  It's a closet and a porch.  This is a place where I offer new and gently-used Lilly Pulitzer.  I also offer some aprons (in excellent condition) from my "Prissy Apron Collection," some holiday themed aprons and brand new Lilly Pulitzer fabric aprons.

Of course I had to priss-up the space with pink and green...some of my favorite Lilly prints adorn the walls.

I also offer hostess gifts for sale.

Just some stuff from the house....

Love these little pillows...I'm on a pom pom kick y'all!

Lilly Pulitzer pillows, accessories, and shifts!

If you are in the Macon/Warner Robins, Georgia area, stop in a take a peek!  I am space #135 at Vintage Junktion, 1736 Watson Boulevard, Warner Robins, Georgia.  I frequently post items added to the booth on my Instagram page.  If you see something you want, call Dana or Karen (the owners) at 478.302.5005.  They will be happy to help you!

The French Market

The other day I drove up to Locust Grove, Georgia to shop at the outlet mall.  The outlet mall isn't large like the ones I've been to in Florida, but I still got to get some cute loot at Polo Ralph Lauren and J Crew.

If you are traveling on I-75 through Georgia this summer, you must stop off in Locust Grove...for the outlet mall and The French Market.  I have seen the billboards on I-75 and heard about The French Market and Tavern from new friends.

The French Market.  It is fabulous!

I spoke with owner Lauren Weaver a bit about her business.  She completely renovated the building which was a former hardware store and it is stocked full of French Country goodies y'all!  She does a lot of catering and hosting on-site events...weddings, birthday celebrations, corporate events, and business meetings.  In addition to the cafe bar, there are two dining areas adjacent to the main store.

This is the entrance to the cafe bar...I simply have to start playing dress up with my mannequin.

I love a place where I can shop and eat and this cafe is fabulous!

Take a peek inside the store...

I cannot wait to go back to this store!

Bless Your Heart

Southern girls love to sip a coca cola and bless people's hearts.  Down South, you hear this phrase thrown around all the time.  However, I can certainly understand why some people are confused over the meaning of this phrase. Nowadays, Southerners drop the phrase constantly...and not in a kind way--"She shouldn't be wearing that short skirt, bless her heart!"  This is one I hear all the time--"He's wearing cargo shorts, bless his heart!"

I grew up with a Mama who would always say "Bless your little heart" whenever I was ill, or "Bless Margie's heart, she just lost her husband of 60 years!"  I never once heard her use the phrase as a backhanded insult or to be rude.   "Bless your heart" should be used in a sincere way to express genuine love, pity, or sympathy.

Today, I'm using my "Bless Your Heart" koozie...I love the Southern Girl Collection at the Feathered Nest Boutique.  Kathryn, the owner, is a native of Peach County, Georgia and now resides in Athens, Georgia.  She offers lots of cute loot on her Etsy shop and the items from the Southern Girl Collection are must-haves to show your love for all things Southern!

These neoprene koozies come in nine designs, fit standard-sized cans and bottles, and fold flat for easy storage.  Talk Southern to me!

Kathryn's mother painted the design for the "Little Miss Southern Charm" teesVery Southern and very cute!

Now don't y'all need this iPhone case?!  "Southern girls love their sweet tea, mamas, and monograms!"  Yes ma'am we do love all three!

The Cute Mason Jar design also comes in a koozie...monogrammed, of course!

And to coordinate with the rest of the collection, you need the sunglasses straps!

Y'all be kind!  Check out the Feathered Nest Boutique on Facebook and Instagram also!

Lilly Pulitzer Summer is Here

The Lilly for Target sale has come and gone...many were disappointed but many were happy with the items they were able to buy.  I ended up getting the Boom Boom Umbrella, Nosie Posey Hammock, Fan Dance Shift, and the Nosie Posey Button Down.  I will be searching Facebook sites (my new favorite is Lilly Pulitzer for Target Fair Buy/Sell/Trade) and eBay for reasonably priced resell items.  I don't mind paying a bit over retail, but some of the prices on eBay are unreal!

Moving on... Lilly Pulitzer Summer is here!  First on my must-have list is the 'Scuba to Cuba' Janice dress.  Love it.

I love the 'Pop Pink Tusk In Sun' pattern!  The ladies is the Delia Shift and the little girls is the Classic Shift.  I think it's so much cuter in the Classic Shift, so I'm gonna have to try the Delia on before I decide if I really want this.

The Elsa blouse is very cute in the 'Scuba to Cuba' pattern.  The Elsa blouse is SO comfortable and looks great on ladies of all ages...with shorts or slacks.

While I love the Annabelle Shift in the 'Jumbo Sunflower Eyelet', I'll leave this dress for the young ladies.

Love this adorable 'Meet Me At The Beach' tote!

These sunglasses are a must...now to choose which pattern I want the most--'Hotty Pink First Impression,'  'Blue Lobstah Roll,' 'Let's Cha Cha,' or 'She She Shells.'
