Christmas Decorations

Hello y'all!  Here's a few photos of my Christmas decor.  Some of it you might remember from last year and some of it is new this year.

I decided to go with a burlap/cotton boll/deer theme this year.

This slim tree fits perfectly into the narrow space beside the fireplace.  The green gingham ribbon coordinates with the fabric on my dining chairs and I love all the cotton!

I'm not a fan of the tv above the mantel, but I lost that battle!

I'm not taking this wreath down after Christmas.  I love it too much!

I was going to hang a gaudy deer head, but then I found this cute one at Pier 1.

This is the "Happy Holidays" tree in the dining area.
Y'all might remember these nightstand trees from last year.

This was the black tree I used during Halloween.  Now it's my Parisian tree.

I still love all my "Joyeux Noel" Christmas loot.

Of course, I had to put out all my pink Christmas loot...

I didn't do much outside this year...maybe next year!

I hope y'all are enjoying the Christmas season.  This is a reminder that I'm changing my blog name to SocialGraces-101.blogspot.com.  This change will take place before the first of the year.  Hope you will visit me there!

*Edited:  Please disregard the blog name change above.  I will remain at EtiquetteWithMissJanice.blogspot.com and you can also read my blog at MissJanice.com.

Sunday Night Soiree

I promised y'all the photos from our Sunday Night 'Sips n Nibbles' party...Like everyone, I feel like I can't keep up from Thanksgiving to New Years!  I'm soooo behind!

I set up nibbles on the island in the kitchen.  I served dips from my Taste of Gourmet foods and chips.

"Here's What I Wore"   Black slacks, a white turtleneck, and this cute apron from my "Prissy Apron Collection."   Of course my apron simply must match my soiree decor and this darling apron is monogrammed!

My wine goblet is usually coordinated with my outfit as well...Matchy Matchy!

I'm ready to receive our guests...

More goodies...

I set up a table of goodies for the children...

Little Debbie Treats are a perfect choice to serve to the youngins at this time of year!

Christmas tree peeps!

Festive paper products...

Each guest left with their choice of a party favor from my "Friendship Gifts."

I always walk around serving our guests hot canapes...from a silver tray with bows!

Chocolates and nuts in the Relaxing Room...{aka the den}

The bar is set for dessert...

Cheetah print Santa and cheetah and palm print paper dessert plates...If you're gonna use paper products, they better be cute!

Cheetah and palm print napkins with a petite tree...

Thanks for stopping by y'all.  I"m in a rush getting ready for a visit from my BF Miss Joy!  Lord have mercy, my house is a mess.

The Advent Tree is Up!

Happy Advent y'all!  Today is the first day of the season of Advent...the time of preparation for the coming of Christ at Christmas and the start of the liturgical new year.  Advent is the time of spiritual reflection as well as anticipation counting down the days until Christmas.

Today's message at church was Hope...The purple 'Hope' Advent candle was lit...expressing our longing for peace, healing, and well-being of all creation.

Our Advent tree is up!  This is the same tree I started last year.  I added festive numbered treat cones...one for each day of the Advent season.  I added peppermint candy and placed a "Christmas Bucket List 2012" tag inside each one--my list of things I want to do during the season...Attend a holiday home tour, go Christmas Caroling, watch all my favorite Christmas movies, and all the other traditional Christmas holiday activities.

I bought these printable cones on Etsy last year...you can find them here.

Pedro and Pepi have been busy little elves this weekend...baking gingerbread cookies.

So, I've been running from store to store to find the perfect gifts, trying to get them wrapped, finishing up all the Christmas decorations, baking, and trying to pack it all in.  Tonight we are relaxing on the sofa watching our favorite shows...Amazing Race, Dexter, and Homeland.

Y'all have a great week!
