Cheese straws are just as popular in the South as grits, boiled peanuts, and pimiento cheese. Legend has it that a frugal cook mixed together leftover biscuit dough with some some cheese and formed them into straws, and voila...the South's most delectable cocktail snack was born! You will find them in the shape of straws, squares, or circles...the shape is not important--the taste is what makes them special.

My December "Friendship Gift"...cheese straws, wrapped and ready to give!
Awhile back, I received the most awesome cheese straws from my BFF Teresa Jane. Teresa Jane recently designed a website for Chinaberry Foods of Thomson, Georgia {Thomson is a deep-south Southern town near Augusta} and Chinaberry Foods is known for their delicious cheese straws. Why are their cheese straws square? According to their website, "The square shape makes the wafer excellent for shipping and guarantees that each box will arrive in perfect condition."
Well Lord have mercy, Teresa Jane said these were a must-have and bless her heart...I love 'em! That's why I've chosen to give cheese straws from Chinaberry Foods as my December "Friendship Gift." You can find these Southern delicacies online here. You may also order them by calling their toll-free number 877.312.4462.
I hope y'all are having a wonderful day! Thank you for stopping by:)

I love cheese straws! And as always your presentation is fabulous! Hope you're having a wonderful trip.
Those sure do look tasty. As a new resident of the south, I really do need to get with the program.
I like your "wrapping" idea!
beautiful packaging!
Yum! These look delicious! I love the way you wrapped the cheese straws.
I just love cheese straws. I'll have to try the ones from Chinaberry Foods. A former coworker, that was from up North, said that she was amazed when she moved down South, because an event in the South is not an event without cheese straws and sausage balls.
I was wondering how you made them in such perfectly square wafers! LOL! Love the packaging!
I do love seeing what you come up with each month, and I do love cheese straws!! Perhaps you would be willing to share your cheese straw recipe?
Oh love cheese straws. This month I am giving Photo cards I made as hostess gifts.
Your gifts are so cute.
