Christmas Beverage Bar

Sharing photos today of my Christmas beverage bar.  It's been real cold here in Georgia and hot chocolate and coffee drinks are my go-to beverages of the day.  Yes, I like to change out my Keurig for the seasons and this cute red one will be on deck through Valentines Day.  I knew when I saw the red buffalo check banner at the Target Dollar Spot that I just had to have it. Gingham and buffalo checks go with everything.  I found the red truck on sale at JC Penny and love using it in my vignettes.  It's loaded down with Starbucks peppermint mocha pods.

Flocked greens are all the rage this Christmas, so I ordered the flocking kit on Amazon.  After it arrived, I decided I wasn't in the mood for all the flocked mess that I would make.  I got some snow spray from Michaels and sprayed the greens with the snow spray.  Very easy and not so messy!

The tiered tray was on sale at Hobby Lobby so I brought it home to add to my collection...a tiered tray for every tabletop is a must, right?!

I found the cute red truck napkins in a little shop in Senoia, Georgia.  That reminds me...the store had their Christmas decked out with red truck decor and it was adorned with a big red truck at the top. SO cute!

As I'm writing this, I'm enjoying a hot cocoa and watching a Hallmark Christmas movie.  It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Just Another Prissy Miss Janice Day!

Lunch, movie, and shopping like I'm some kinda socialite! I had a very busy and fun day today. I carried my Lilly 'Bloomers' notebook...

To Do's, Shopping Lists, and coupons!

After a quick lunch and trip to Starbuck's, I was off to see "The Help." Lord have mercy I LOVED this movie and the book and can't stop thinking about it all...each character who represents someone from my childhood growing up in the South. I fell in love with Skeeter, Minny, Aibileen, and especially little Mae Mobley. Awesome y'all. Just awesome!

I loved the home decor from the 60's, the hair do's, and of course, the clothes. Here's the girls at Bridge Club.

LOVED the maids--Minny and Aibileen!!! Loved 'em!

Celia Foote...loved the part she played so well.

Miss Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan and her mama, Mrs. Charlotte Boudreau Cantrelle Phelan...with the Shinalator for Skeeter's curly hair. I totally need one y'all!

After the movie, I was off to the newly opened Hobby Lobby--so excited that our town now has a Hobby Lobby. Of course, I shopped till I dropped...finding a lot of cute new loot for Autumn.

"HERE'S WHAT I WORE" The skirt is the 'Taboo' pattern by Lilly and the white tee is from Target. Even though it was about 95 degrees in the shade today, I carried my J Crew 'Jackie' green cardigan to wear inside the freezing cold theater.
My accessories: Pink & green Jack Rogers, gold monogrammed choker and matching earrings, Cartier roll ring wedding band, 'Oyster Perpetual' Rolex watch, pink grosgrain ponytail bow, Chanel sunglasses, Lilly 'Later Gator' croakies, lime green iPhone cover, Essie 'Lovie Dovie' nail polish, Chanel 'Laser Pink' lipstick, and Lilly 'Wink' cologne and body lotion.

I carried my pink 'Le Pliage' pocketbook by Longchamp.

After seeing the help today, I can say that I'm totally obsessed with sweater guard clips now. Great. Just great. Another obsession!
I will close with a few of my favorite lines from the movie and the book:

~"I can't believe Johnny married a girl so tacky like she is!"

~"Today, I'm trying to explain to her the difference between dipping and polishing the silver, how only the tacky houses do the dip cause it's faster, but it don't look good."

~"I wash her hair every Friday. I never seen that woman wash her own hair. If I die before her, I don't know what Miss Sissy gone do about getting her hair washed."

~"She's (Celia) wearing a tight red sweater and a red skirt and enough makeup to scare a hooker!"

~"Miss Leefolt sigh, hang up the phone like she just don't know how her brain gone operate without Miss Hilly coming over to push the Think button."

~"You got nothing left here but enemies in the Junior League and a Mama that's gone drive you to drink. You done burned every bridge there is. And you ain't never gonna get another boyfriend in this town and everybody know it. So don't walk your white butt to New York, run it."

~"I rolled 13 curlers in her hair every night at the Chi Omega house at Ole Miss, but today she threatened to throw me out of the Junior League."

~Mrs. Charlotte Phelan's Guide to Husband-Huntin, Rule #1: A pretty petite girl should
accentuate with makeup and good posture, a tall plain one with a trust fund."

Thank you for stopping by for a visit!!!

SHOPAHOLIC TAKES TO THE ROAD!

This morning I hit the road for a brick and mortar shopping trip..."HERE'S WHAT I WORE." The khaki skirt is from Target, the white tee is from Lord knows where, and the navy cardigan is the 'Jackie cardigan' from JCrew.

The accessories...My navy blue 'Revas' by Tory Burch looked cute with the navy blue monogrammed Bermuda Bag. I wore my pearl necklace and pearl stud earrings, along with my 'Oyster Perpetual' watch by Rolex, and and my rollring wedding band by Cartier. My ponytail was adorned with a navy grosgrain ribbon and my fragrance for the day was 'Lauren' by Ralph Lauren.

I drove north on I-95 to Viera, Florida to have lunch and shop, shop, shop! Mimi's Cafe for lunch...haven't lunched there since my days in Palm Springs, California!

I chose the clam chowder soup to start...this is ONE of the reasons I eat carrots on most days and jog on others! It was creamy and decadent! Delish y'all:)

A little soup etiquette: The soup spoon is always placed on the right-hand side of the saucer...never left in the soup bowl.

I chose the crab cakes and mixed greens as my entree...very, very good y'all!

Since my days in Italy, {long story y'all} I have been totally addicted to espresso. It really is my hot caffeine drink of choice! I certainly needed the boost to keep me going during the afternoon shopaholic spree.

First stop...The Hobby Lobby! I stayed in this store for TWO HOURS y'all! I didn't want to miss a thing...ribbons, Easter decos, cardstock, plates, napkins, et cetera. Debit card meltdown. The Hobby Lobby is my favorite--I love them, but, Michael's Crafts doesn't hold a candle to this store!!! The Hobby Lobby is closed on Sundays and I respect the owners for that...keeping the Sabbath holy.

Next stop, Cost Plus World Market. LOVE this store! Found a cute apron, some darlin' flatware, and some unique coasters. Y'all will see it all soon:)

Pit stop y'all!!! Chick-fil-A!!! Well, if you follow me on Twitter, you know that I gave up Diet Caffeine-Free Coke for Lent. But, I'm still good-to-go with the other Southern favorite--sweet tea. And...nobody does sweet tea better than Chick-fil-A! Worth the calories...yes ma'am!

On the way back home, I stopped at another long-time favorite...Ralph Lauren Polo! I bought a cute pearl bracelet..that's all! :)

The loot in the trunk...

So now it's almost midnight and I really should be asleep...I'm getting up at 5:00 a.m. for a mini-roadtrip to one of my favorite small towns in Florida--Mt. Dora. It's time for the annual Mt. Dora Spring Crafts Show. I'm soooo excited, 'cuz I love that little town and all the quaint shops! Off to bed I go.
Thank you for visiting with me!

FALLIN' UP THE TV ROOM--Part Deux

I have been super busy this morning...organizing and getting ready for the weekend. Have I mentioned to y'all that I love Fall?!! I'm really enjoying the somewhat cooler weather we are having here in South Florida and I'm still in full pumpkin mode! It's pumpkin everything for me right now.

These are some more photos of my TV room here at "The Roost."

This is a table that I purchased at one of my all-time favorite stores--House of Fink, in Olive Branch, Mississippi. If you are ever in the Memphis area, stop in the House of Fink and ask for Rita. She has the cutest stuff for the home y'all!!!
My cornacopia, which I absolutely love!

A brown feathered wreath...I think it goes well with the table arrangement.
I also purchased this etagere at the House of Fink...it matches my bar/table.

These windows and the door look out into the backyard. It's very bright outside today, so I closed the blinds a bit...
I love door toppers and I purchased this iron one at Hobby Lobby...I'm soooo excited to be making a special trip to the Hobby Lobby up in Ocala this weekend on my way (actually waaaay out of my way) to Sarasota for a visit with my relatives.
Extra seating...this is one of the chairs to my breakfast table. I purchased the table and chairs from Ballard Designs. This is also where I store some of my huge inventory of Trader Joe's Two-Buck-Chuck wine.

One of my many rooster pillows...

Thank you for visiting with me today and I hope that y'all are able to get out and enjoy all the sweet things that Autumn has to offer this weekend!!!
