Miss Warner Robins 2016

Last Saturday evening I got my pageant fix!  A new Miss Warner Robins and Miss International City were crowned along with Miss Outstanding Teens for both cities.  The pageant started at 6:30 p.m. and ended at 11:30 p.m.  My husband kept asking, "How long does this last?"  I reminded him that I love watching pageants as much as football!

Tess Hammock, a 21-year old student at the University of Georgia, won the title of Miss Warner Robins 2016.

Caroline Burnette, a 19-year old student at Georgia Southern University, won the title of Miss International City.

Grace Thomas, a 16-year old student at Houston County High won the title of Miss Warner Robins' Outstanding Teen.

Mandolyn Howard won the title of Miss International City's Outstanding Teen.

All four young ladies will go on to compete at the Miss Georgia pageant next June.
Hopefully these ladies follow in the footsteps of recent local winners.

Betty Cantrell, Miss Warner Robins 2015, won the title of Miss Georgia and will compete at the Miss America pageant on September 13.

Two years ago, Olivia McMillan won Miss Warner Robins Outstanding Teen and went onto win the Georgia title and then became Miss America's Outstanding Teen!

I cannot wait for the Miss America Pageant on September 13th.  I'll be back next week with my favorite contestants!

Miss Georgia Pageant

It's pageant season and I couldn't be happier.  I love watching the ladies compete and picking my favorites.  The 71st Miss Georgia pageant is this Saturday evening in Columbus.  I'm not going to be able to attend but hope to watch the webcast.  I have been following some of my favorites on social media.  All of the Miss Georgia and Miss Georgia Outstanding Teen contestants are beautiful and talented and here are just a few that I'll be cheering for:
Brooke Doss, Miss Troup County
Talent, Ballet en Pointe

Rosa Campos, Miss Conyers
Talent, Musical Theatre Vocal

Adeline Kenerly, Miss Capital City
Talent, Baton Twirling

*Betty Cantrell, Miss Warner Robins
Talent, Operatic Vocal

This young lady is my favorite Outstanding Teen contestant.  I saw her win the Miss Warner Robins Outstanding Teen title and her talent was fabulous.  She is adorable!  Good luck to Miss Hollis!

Miss America 2015 - The Contestants

Miss America 2015 will be crowned this Sunday evening in a televised event on ABC, live from Atlantic City.  The hosts are Chris Harrison, host of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette and Lara Spencer, co-anchor for Good Morning America.

Here are the contestants vying for the coveted crown:

Who is my favorite to take the crown?  She's Maggie Bridges, Miss Georgia!  This girl is stunning and talented.  The 21-year old is majoring in Business Administration at Georgia Tech, has plans to go to pharmacy school, and one day hopes to open her own pharmacy.

Miss Georgia has not won the title of Miss America since 1953...I think Maggie has a fabulous chance of bringing the crown back to Georgia!

Maggie is featured on the cover of South magazine's August/September issue...truly a cover girl!

The Miss America parade, now called the "Show Us Your Shoes' Parade" will take place on Saturday in Atlantic City and is a traditional favorite for spectators.  Maggie got a bit of help from her fellow students at Georgia Tech with the design of her shoes...they will be the world's first partially printed 3D shoes ever worn by a contestant in the parade.  The shoes are based on the Georgia Tech mascot, 'Rambling Wreck'.

All my other favorites are Southern girls!

Miss Alabama, Caitlin Brunell

Miss Arkansas, Ashton Jo Campbell

Miss Kentucky, Ramsey Carpenter

Miss Mississippi, Jasmine Murray

Miss Tennessee, Hayley Lewis

I love this Miss America Scoring Sheet and will be using it on Sunday!

I cannot wait to sit down with my popcorn and watch the pageant.  Good luck to all the girls competing!
