Happy Birthday to Krispy Kreme

Happy 77th Birthday to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts!

Growing up in Georgia I would go door-to-door every Saturday morning selling boxes of these doughnuts for cheerleading uniforms or other fundraisers.

Seriously, how sweet would it be to wake up to this darling truck scooting around your neighborhood...selling Krispy Kremes door-to-door?

The "Hot Now" sign is what separates Krispy Kreme from other doughnut chains.

The most famous and best-selling is the Krispy Kreme original glazed, so light and airy--200 calories with 11 grams of fat...and not the good kind either...and a whopping 10 grams of sugar.  It will take a jog of 22 minutes or a walk of 53 minutes to burn it off.  But it's worth it!

Can't get to the local Krispy Kreme when the "Hot Now" sign is on?  Pop the doughnut into the micro for a few seconds and it's a melt-in-your mouth treat--almost like getting one from the Krispy Kreme store when the "Hot Now" sign is on!

Walmart now carries the Krispy Kreme Iced Coffees...in mocha and original glazed.  Unfortunately, these have been very difficult for me to find and I've searched numerous Walmart stores in Florida and Georgia.

Many, many more years Krispy Kreme!

I'M HAVING AMERICAN IDOL WITHDRAWALS!

Hey y'all, what's this about the President speaking to the Nation on American Idol night? Excuse me, can't he do these speeches on Friday or even Saturday night when there's nothing to watch on television? Well, that's okay, 'cuz we're off to enjoy a cookout with friends! And...Here's What I'm Wearing.

It's gonna be a little chilly outside in South Florida tonight, so I'm wearing my MollyB denim jacket, a pink Lilly turtlneck with a silver necklace monogrammed with my initials, and my Ralph Lauren Saturday Jeans.

I must confess that I have caved!!! Yes, Miss Janice is falling into the South Florida trap of wearing flip flops before Easter. I guess I need to rewrite my own rules! (But you will NEVER EVAH see me in white before Easter...please don't think that will ever happen)! So anyway, I'm wearing these flip flops with the cute dots that match the jacket, my hair will be up in the usual ponytail with a pink grosgrain bow, silver monogrammed earrings with the matching bracelet, my Cartier wedding band, and Christian Dior "Palm Tree" nail polish and Chanel "Laser Pink" lipstick. After a few spritzes of Lilly "Wink", we're out the door!

Goodness gracious, where are my manners? Before I forget, I simply must show you a gift I received in the mail over the weekend from MineHeartSpeaks. She recently had a massive giveaway and my name was on the list of bloggers who received thank-you gifts from her.

She sent me some "movie night" goodies..."Loves Comes Softly," a nice, romantic movie; popcorn with a cute little container and GOOBERS (chocolate covered roasted peanuts)! Bless your heart girl! You are just too sweet!
Here's my little surprise happy!

Y'all have to visit her blog--she's a fine Christian lady who loves her family and is very interested in learning all that she can about etiquette. Also, a girl after Miss Janice's heart...she loves...that "HOT NOW" sign at Krispy Kreme! Thank you so much for that act of kindess!

And, thanks to you for dropping by today! I hope you have a wonderful evening . Pick up some Krispy Kreme doughnuts...you only live once y'all!

Roasting Marshmallows and Caroling through the Snow

Whether you are just staying at home in front of the cozy fire with family and friends, or out caroling through the snow, keep the season festive with this snowman theme. If you would like to go out caroling, invite guests you think would like to participate and choose songs that most people know. Print out sheets with the words to each song; i.e., Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Jingle Bells, Silent Night, and We Wish You a Merry Christmas, etc. Have fun! It's a very Southern thing to do during the holidays.

If you receive carolers at your door, be sure to remember your manners and offer them some hot chocolate in a festive to-go cup along with the all-time Southern favorite--Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.
Roasting Marshmallows and Caroling through the Snow...

It's a Southern thing, y'all!

There will be no Caroling through the Snow for me this year...it's 75 degrees outside!...Ho, ho, ho!
