It's Flag Day y'all! The American flag is our primary national symbol, and it should be displayed with respect. So, I simply must address Flag Etiquette.
~When the flag passes by, Americans should either stand in silent respect or place their right hands over their hearts. I was taught as a young girl to place my hand over my heart and that is how I salute the flag now. Don't you just hate it when professional athletes don't salute the American flag or show respect during the national anthem?
~A flag should only be flown from sunrise to sunset.
~A flag should never touch the ground or water.
~When a flag is so tattered and worn that it is unfit for display, it should be destroyed in one piece, privately and by burning.
During your patriotic celebrations, remember the words to the Pledge of Allegiance.
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
Yes, I was born on Flag Day! It's my birthday! It's my birthday! I LOVE THE LIFE I'M LIVING Y'ALL!
Husband is buying me the iPhone...need that! We are driving down to Miami for the day...Note to self: Bring spanish-english dictionary! We are going to have some fun...drivin' by the very first house we ever owned in Kendall (it was decorated in a Gucci theme y'all, I promise), having some dinner, and meeting up with a few long-time friends. It's a very casual day and "Here's What I'm Wearing"... The dress is a Cape Cod Blue Fresh Fish Krista dress, by Lilly and the white sweater throw is from Land's End. I'm carrying a small Chanel white pocketbook and wearing my pearl necklace.
The shoes-- white Stephen Bonanno sandals. I will of course be wearing my Cartier roll ring wedding band, along with a gold Channel bracelet, and my pearl stud earrings. My ponytail will be adorned with a white grosgrain ribbon bow and after a spritz of Lilly Wink and some Lilly Wink hand cream...I'm Out the Door, y'all! It's Party Time!
Thank you so much for stopping by today. Please remember to honor our national symbol...The American Flag!
