A Little Christmas on the Porch...at "The Roost"

As I have mentioned in my last few posts, I'm keeping things a little simple this year. As I've only been in this cottage a year, I'm still trying to figure out exactly how I want to decorate. I thought y'all might like to see some of my decorations on the porch.

Here's the front view of the cottage. We always get the stop signs and fire hydrants in front of our homes...
My garlands and wreaths are all adorned with red and white gingham ribbon...I told y'all I am obsessed with gingham right now!

You can see some of my roses are still blooming....

Note to self: That front door wreath doesn't pop enough!

My darling little Mary Engelbreit flag...

My little Santa tree...oh Lord, I see a cord--I hate those things!

A little feather tree with santa ornaments...

Snowman theme tablescape on the porch...

Frosty the snowman--and more gingham. I found the cute plates at Hobby Lobby. The mugs are the same pattern and I found them at Belk's.

I just can't stop with the gingham! I have no idea where these snowflake napkin rings came from!

I added a festive touch for sipping the hot chocolate...little snowman straws! I found those at The Dollar Store last year.

The snowman placecard holders came from Beall's...

Get your party favors y'all! I found these cute little snowman candy holders at Michael's Crafts and stuffed them with Dove Peppermint Bark chocolates...

I hope you enjoyed your visit to my front porch here at "The Roost!" I'll be back later with some photos of my Christmas decorations around my kitchen area. Thank you so much for stopping by!

I just noticed your "Naughty Nog" and "Nice Nog" with all of the Nutcrackers. I love it and will definitely borrow your idea when family comes to our home Christmas morning!

Thank you so much for your warm comments on my decorations. Coming from you means so much!

Beautiful!
I love your snowman place card holders!
I also love those dove chocolates - I have several bags of those same ones here that I brought back from a cross border shopping trip :O)

If you can find fabric close to the colour of your walls you could make little tubes to put over your cords to camoflage them - I cant stand cords either so I am always trying to come up with ways to hide them!

Keeping it simple...I am amazed at the number of different trees, each with a theme, and all of your wonderful decorations. I love it all! Thanks for sharing.

why not wrap a cord in gingham ribbon? Or would that call too much attention to it?
Beautiful!

Ok, that's it, I'm asking for a house tour! (Just joking, as it's not proper etiquette to invite yourself over - being a proper southern lady! :-) Your house is simply gorgeous, I love the pictures, it's just so festive, I love it!

The front looks wonderful, Miss Janice. I, too, love gingham.
Your tablescape is darling and I love your southern sign of the front porch.

Oh I just love everything! And I'm so glad to hear that Hobby Lobby and The Dollar Store can be classy! I love to pick things up from there, but sometimes I wonder if people will think I'm "cheap" if they know where my items come from. I say I'm "resourceful." Cute is cute, right!?

Merry Merry, Miss Janice!

So festive!!
I'm a southern girl, living in Boston, who loves front porches! Just last week, as my little one was making Christmas cards for her grandparents in TN, she asked me for a picture of a front porch -- "because that is Pampa's FAVORITE place!" --
Yours always looks gorgeous!

HI Miss Janice! I just posted something I think you would love -- I visited Kensington Palace's latest exhibition "The Last Debutantes" while in London and took loads of pretty photos.

Looks right up your alley! :)
