I'm wearing a hostess half-apron in the 'Gigi Toile' pattern by Jessie Steele. I don't believe this pattern is available in the half apron anymore, but I think they carry the full apron at BedBath&Beyond.
Love the pattern! The prissy girl primpin'...
The prissy girl walking her prissy dog...
The prissy girl shopping...with a schlepper, of course!

It is perfectly proper to place your drink on your plate, along with a ham biscuit while standing and socializing. Remember do use the "three finger rule" when eating a sandwich...use your thumb, the index finger, and the middle finger and take dainty bites!

"Teresa Jane's Silver Pitcher Iced Tea":
Bring 1 gallon water to a boil. Add 3 family-size tea bags and steep for 3 minutes. Discard the tea bags. Add 2 cups sugar, stirring until dissolved. Stir in 3/4 cup white grape juice and a 1-1/2 oz. packet of lemonade mix. Chill for 3 hours. Serve over crushed iced and add fresh mint.
I love to serve my guests Southern food with a Southern-style! And...I always make sure I wear my pearls with my hostess apron!

That looks wonderful! I love ham biscuits, and can't picture a good southern party without them.
Love a ham biscuit with Smithfield ham and Marshall's biscuits... reminds me of my grandmother. When she was still entertaining, she always has them.
You, my dear, are so adorable. Mmmmmm, I love ham biscuits and sweet tea! Yummy! I'm such a sucker for cute aprons, and that one certainly is a keeper!
Hope you've had a great weekend! xoxo
Ham biscuits. Hmmm. Sorry to say I've never heard of doing that. Are the biscuits toasted? Do you mustard or mayonnaise.. or are they left plain? I would love to try this.
Thanks for sharing!

Delightful! You can't go wrong with a good ham biscuit for almost any occasion, and I'm looking forward to trying your tea recipe. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! I have really enjoyed reading yours--I especially loved your post on Mount Dora. I lived there for 12 years, and I just loved it! We always try to go back in February for the Antiques Extravaganza and the Goblin Market!
What a darling apron and you wear it so well! Such a lovely party...the whole design is wonderful!

I'm just now catching up with blogs - you're looking fantastic and Coco is precious!! I also dress Violet my miniature schnauzer.
You had asked me a while back where to find my book. It will be released August 3rd, so you can either order from Amazon, BarnesNoble.com,etc, or go to your favorite bookstore.
I just love reading all about your southern charm and I am about as far from the south as you get (WI)!
i'm a big ham biscuits maker myself! (wouldn't be a southern girl now, if i wasn't, right?) how perfect for entertaining!!
i remember when i was in college, whenever we had guests over i would always get up early and make ham biscuits and coffee...now, going to school in the midwest, my roomates thought i had just gone CRAZY! but, let me tell you, when we all took a road trip up north to see a Notre Dame football game, it was our host that did the same thing in return!! (see, good manners DO rub off!) and did I mention, the host was a gentleman?!?!? a true one if he got up and did this kind of morning work!
Cute pictures!! Oh, yes, nothing like a ham biscuit! Good salty, country ham. June Cleaver would be happy to see you wearing your pearls ;-) xoxo
Morning Miss Janice! You are such an inspiration for putting some "zing" into daily life. Love how your cache pot matches the napkins/plates and apron! You absolutely can never go wrong with toile anything-not to mention the pearls! Cute pattern I've never seen! One of those biscuits would be delicious right now (6:19am) with my second cup of coffee!lol Enjoy your week - Sincerely, Jeannette
Yes, we all love our iced tea here in the south but that Silver Pitcher recipe is the best. I can never get enough ham biscuits. You look so pretty Miss Janice. See you soon.
I'm sure your guests enjoyed every bite and every sip you served. I love your secretary!
You look adorable!
Fabulous! I never knew there was such a thing as a silver iced tea pitcher but now that I've seen yours of course I'd love one too! Ha!
Pretty!

You look simply adorable!
Loving the apron that perfectly matches your outift {a must!}
We didn't have ham biscuits growing up in Michigan. They do look delish and the tea is a perfect refresher for any hot summers day.

Miss Janice - I adore you and want to be your BFF! You make everything fun and wonderful. xo
Love the apron, love the etiquette lesson too.
Thanks Miss Janice!
*off to make iced tea now*
Miss Janice. I grew up learning all the rules of etiquette from my grandmother. As an officer's wife, it was truly second nature to her after a life of teas and cocktail parties. She passed away two years ago. I so miss her so and all the sweet advice and tips she always had. I had a trusted answer to any question on rule of attire or manners. Your site has been such a joy to me. It's the ladies that make the south such a special place!
With all this southern food how come you haven't had a heart attack yet, lol. You are too cute.
