Ham biscuits are at home on the table at any Southern soiree...

It is perfectly proper to place your drink on your plate, along with a ham biscuit while standing and socializing. Remember do use the "three finger rule" when eating a sandwich...use your thumb, the index finger, and the middle finger and take dainty bites!

Bring 1 gallon water to a boil. Add 3 family-size tea bags and steep for 3 minutes. Discard the tea bags. Add 2 cups sugar, stirring until dissolved. Stir in 3/4 cup white grape juice and a 1-1/2 oz. packet of lemonade mix. Chill for 3 hours. Serve over crushed iced and add fresh mint.
I love to serve my guests Southern food with a Southern-style! And...I always make sure I wear my pearls with my hostess apron!

Ham biscuits. Hmmm. Sorry to say I've never heard of doing that. Are the biscuits toasted? Do you mustard or mayonnaise.. or are they left plain? I would love to try this.

ReplyDeletei remember when i was in college, whenever we had guests over i would always get up early and make ham biscuits and coffee...now, going to school in the midwest, my roomates thought i had just gone CRAZY! but, let me tell you, when we all took a road trip up north to see a Notre Dame football game, it was our host that did the same thing in return!! (see, good manners DO rub off!) and did I mention, the host was a gentleman?!?!? a true one if he got up and did this kind of morning work!

Miss Janice. I grew up learning all the rules of etiquette from my grandmother. As an officer's wife, it was truly second nature to her after a life of teas and cocktail parties. She passed away two years ago. I so miss her so and all the sweet advice and tips she always had. I had a trusted answer to any question on rule of attire or manners. Your site has been such a joy to me. It's the ladies that make the south such a special place!
