Mardi Gras Foods

It's Mardi Gras season and I've been busy getting together some of my decorations...even if it's just for the few days after Valentine's 'till Fat Tuesday!
This is one of the festive centerpieces I made a couple of years ago and it will go on the dining table...
I've already eaten more muffulettas than I care to admit and I'm gonna use my Taste of Gourmet Bayou Beer Bread mix and make some "Bayou Beer Sausage Muffins" next week! You can purchase the Bayou Beer Bread mix from me HERE....just add some cooked, spicy ground sausauge and bake in a muffin pan!
Jezebel Sauce is a must for the season...This Southern sauce is a hot, sweet horseradish mustard blended with apricots, peaches, and apples. It's a standard item in my Entertaining Pantry and goes great with Taste of Gourmet's Toffee Crunch Cheese Cake Ball mix. Both of these products are also available HERE.
Nothing says Mardi Gras like Jambalaya! Recently, I received an e-mail from one of my readers asking if I had a good recipe for Gumbo. Well, yes ma'am, I do! The Taste of Gourmet Creole File Gumbo mix is a great roux to start your Gumbo. It's packed with chopped vegetables, mixed spices, and even rice. I like to add chopped sausage, chicken, shrimp, chopped tomatoes, and chicken broth. Voila...JAZZY JAMBALAYA!
This Jazzy Jambalaya is delish y'all...simma simma in the crockpot!

So, I hope you are enjoying the foods of Mardi Gras....Laissez les bons temps rouler!
