A LITTLE SOUTHERN LADY LOVE!

Yesterday, I finally had a chance to relax...to sit down, enjoy a cup of tea, and go through the latest edition of Southern Lady magazine.
First I want to express my absolute happiness when I received the collection of the gorgeous Southern Lady Calendar Cards for 2011 from the sweet staff at Southern Lady! Each month I bring out a new card and place it on my tiara place card holder...gotta keep it cute y'all.
The March/April 2011 issue of Southern Lady is the Annual Entertaining Issue...full of fabulous tablescapes and hints for entertaining in style.

On the cover...a beautifully decorated carrot cake, garnished with carrot peels! The recipe is on page 85.

Then, there's the article on "Southern College Towns"...Macon, Georgia is featured--home of Mercer University.

Macon is a town "wrapped in Southern charm and is the Cherry Blossom Capital of the World!"

When I visit Mama next month, I'm definitely taking her to eat at Molly's Cafe in Macon!

Southern Lady
always features the cutest tablescapes ever...LOVE the "Hippity-Hop Parade" scape on pages 62-67.

So much inspiration on every page! This "Very Merry Gathering," pages 72-77 featuring MacKenzie-Childs enamelware caught my eye. I LOVE the 'Courtly Check' pattern and this tablescape is just adorable and oh-so chic!
I have to say that I honestly check out all the ads in Southern Lady...'cuz they are full of businesses selling cute Southern loot:)

So, I liketa died when I visited The Pink Daisy! I found these AdoraAble pocketbooks--Bosom Buddy Bags they are called. This is just one of the cute ones and it's definitely made for Miss Janice!

Then, I read about this new book by Martha Nesbit, "Savannah Celebrations"...another must-have for Miss Janice!

Finally, y'all might remember one of my New Year's Goals...to visit Charleston, South Carolina. Well, I love the article "Charleston...City Set in a Garden," pages 102-106...I copied and saved this fabulous source for places to go and things to see in Charleston...right to my IDEA BOOK/WISH LIST!

I'm sending a great big thanks to Phyliss Hoffman DePiano and her staff for giving all of us this wonderful magazine...full of pretty photos and great articles about Southern people and places!

Miss Janice, this issue of Southern Lady is very special to me because the article on pages 22-23, "Visions in White," features the daughter of a very dear high school friend of mine. Kristina is a very talented, lovely young lady. Be sure to check that out, also. So glad you're back!!

Wow - these last three posts were definitely worth waiting for. Love all your outfits of the day, the apron pictures were almost as good as ootd. And I LOVE Southern Lady magazine. It's my favorite. I even love it more than Victoria and Southern Living. Oh, and thank you to you and your book club for 'reading' me. Thank you! Thank you!

As I am writing this, I am in a lovely hotel room in Charleston, relaxing after a wonderful day spent in this beautiful city! This is my first visit, but definitely not my last. Also, I bought the great book mentioned in Southern Lady magazine, and your blog, at the Calhoun Mansion gift shop. It will be a special momento of a very special spring break trip! Miss Janice, you must visit Charleston!
