A Tribute to Princess Grace

GRACE PATRICIA KELLY
Model, Actress, and Princess
BORN: November 12, 1929--Philadelpha, Pennsylvania
DIED: September 14, 1982--Monte Carlo, Monaco
Grace Kelly starred in some of my favorite movies of all time...The Rear Window, Dial M for Murder, To Catch a Thief, and High Society
At the age of 26, she gave up all the stardom in Hollywood...
In April of 1956, she married Ranier III, Prince of Monaco and became Her Serene Highness. Kelly and her family provided Prince Ranier with a dowry of 2 million USD in order for the marriage to take place! Her wedding gown was made by Helen Rose...embroidered with pearls and covered with lace.
Princess Grace settled down to a married life and became very active in the Arts and many charities.
Ever the style icon...Princess Grace was named on the International Best Dressed List from 1960 until her death.
The Royal Palace at Monaco, Princess Grace's home...it was the most important destination on my first trip to Europe!
The Royal Family of Monaco
Princess Grace on the streets of Paris.
Love this photo of the Princess...wearing Givenchy.
During her first pregnancy, Princess Grace carried a Hermes Kelly Bag to hide her private, growing waistline. Of course, now these pocketbooks go for many thousands of dollars!
You have to love her style...in this photo, she's wearing an Hermes scarf as a sling to support her broken arm!!!
The aging Princess...still a beauty, full of style and grace.

The funeral service was held for Her Serene Highness Princess Grace of Monaco, age 52, at St. Nicholas Cathedral, Monaco.

"I would like to be remembered as someone who accomplished useful deeds, and who was a kind and loving person. I would like to leave the memory of a human being with a correct attitude and who did her best to help others."
~~Princess Grace
Her daughter Caroline...one of my few style icons left.

What I'm Loving Right Now

Pin All Day...Pin All Night! I'm still loving Pinterest!

Thought y'all might like to see a few of things I'm loving this week:

Up first...I LOVE this look...the boots, the pocketbook, the leggings, the sweater, the scarf, and the sunglasses! Perfect!

This pewter cuff bracelet with the monogram...LOVE! This is from Marley Lilly.

This darling pocketbook...monogrammed of course, is on my shopping list! It's available in several colors, but I LOVE the pink. This must-have is available at The Pink Monogram.
I guess I'll never have a Birkin {unless my husband hits the lottery}...but one can dream right? LOVE it!!!!
Again, I love this look. Of course, she's absolutely gorgeous!
Although I love the look of the scarf with the brooch, I tried it and it was total failure on me. {Too much going on} It's still very cute!!!
This little jacket or the vest version would be cute for me to wear during the winter months on 5k race mornings. {I'm thinking pink with black monogram!} These are available at Marley Lilly.
LOVE this look. You can bet I'm going through my jewelry box looking for possible bracelets and watches to "stack." I love the cowl neck sweater also. Glad to see that these are back in style.
Is this dress not precious?! I LOVE it! It's on my list y'all and available in different colors on Etsy here.
That's just a little of "What I'm Loving" this week! There's so much cute stuff out there y'all!

Lee Radziwill

Caroline Lee Bouvier Canfield Radziwill...Born March 3, 1933, chic younger sister to the late First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Mother to Christina and her son, the late Anthony Radziwill, who passed away at the age of 40. American socialite. Style icon. Blessed with fabulous bone structure...oh those unmistakable cheekbones.

"Happy Times" is one of my favorite 'coffee table' books. It was written by Ms. Radziwill who made a choice to only remember what's beautiful. It's a very personal perspective on a highly publicized life. In this book Ms. Radziwill shares photographs of privileged moments with her children, her famous sister Jacqueline and the late President John Kennedy, and also the interior of her beautifully decorated homes. This is a fabulous book and a must-have for those of us who admire her style!
Ms. Radziwill on the cover of "People" ...in the prime of her life.
Dancing with her good friend Truman Capote in 1966. They were best friends...although they were not speaking at the time of his death.
Ms. Radziwill's bedroom...red buffalo check and toile! Be still my heart!
From "Elle Decor"...Ms. Radziwill in her Paris apartment.
2009--Stepping out and looking fabulous...with Calvin Klein. I just love her personal style! And that 'signature coif' is just perfect for her!
Lee and Jackie...I would also totally be wearing those gloves to ride an elephant!

Still a style icon and looking fabulous at 78...Today Ms. Radziwill divides her time between New York and Paris.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

I GET A KICK OUT OF MYSELF!

I am a collector of cute beverage napkins and these pretty much say it all about me!

Yes, sometimes I crack my own self up! Tonight, I'm in my office...tweeting, facebooking, and going through my Wish List Book. It's also my Style File. It contains photos and information about cute loot I want to buy. Every since I've been married, I have always kept a file of stuff I wanted...some of the stuff is extravagant--but it still stays in the book, just in case my husband hits the lottery!

I went to a seminar years ago and the speaker was talking about "getting what you want in life". He said "you must first visualize it"! "Visualize yourself having it and you will get it!" HA! As we all know, that doesn't always work, but I still keep filing photos in my book, just in case.

Here's my Wish List Book. The photos on the cover change from time to time, depending on my little heart's desire!
Inside the binder I also keep a Lilly folder, with estimates, vendor names and contact information.

Fabric samples...

My big project on the horizon will be to get my cottage repainted. This is how it looks now...it's a light green stucco with olive green doors and shutters. I want to paint it a pretty bright yellow with brighter green shutters and doors.

This is a photo of one of my favorite houses nearby. I love the vine which drapes from the top of the porch. This is definitely on my list of things to do! {Y'all, I love this house so much, I ride by it all the time...I go real slow and drool. I have even knocked on their front door once to ask about the name of the vine...it's a variegated bouganvilla. The lady probably thought I was crazy.}

Gonna add some window boxes with pretty red flowers onto the front windows...

If you follow me on Twitter, you know that recently I was fretting because I went out and bought birdseed and no birds showed up for about a week. Well now it's like McDonald's after school lets out...mucho bird feedin' action going on! So I must get some more bird condos...something a little more upscale than they have now!
Don't even ask me why I don't already have a white wicker swing on my front porch...I have no idea why! But, it's on the list:)

This comfy hammock would be pretty on my back porch.

I've been meaning to buy these for my front or my side door...so cute and so Southern!

Mlle. Coco Chanel needs a new bed and this one is just perfect for her...maybe with a cheetah print covered pillow!

Saw these copper molds in a magazine and I search for them all the time.

This is BIG TIME on my list! Want this bad y'all!
Of course, this would be on the front...

Another must-have accessory for the inside of my cute little Beetle...
This is on my SHORT LIST...I hope I get this bike for my birthday...It will match the house color and the VW Beetle color...I told y'all I crack myself up!!! I haven't been on a bike in years, for personal reasons, but I'm ready to try again!
This Nantucket bike basket is a must-have bike accessory...along with a bell! Ding. Ding. Again, I get a kick out of myself and that's all that matters!!!

Now this beautiful sterling tea tipper has been in the book for YEARS! Husband needs to hit the lottery so I can buy this pretty thing...and a pink Chanel pocketbook...and a pink Chanel suit!!!

These Sperry Topsiders are a must-have shoe to the preppy wardrobe. I'm embarrassed to admit I don't have them. You can be sure they are on my short list:)

Do y'all have a Style File or a Wish List Book? If you want cute loot, VISUALIZE IT! Yes ma'am!
