Serving Cherry Cobbler in Style

Well, this darling addition to "Miss Janice's Prissy Apron Collection" has been hanging in my closet for almost a year. It's got my favorites...black and white gingham, red ric rac, and of course a cherry motif!
I've been looking for the right time to wear it. Of course, I couldn't put it on to make my Haute Pigs-n-a-Blanket, right? Last night I decided to make a Cherry Cobbler--a very easy semi-homemade cobbler...keeping it simple and all.

I lined a deep dish pie plate with ready-made pie crust. The cobbler filling is:

2 20-oz cans cherry pie filling
1 can pitted sweet cherries in syrup
2 tblsp flour
1 /2 tsp almond extract
I topped the filling with another ready-made pie crust and cut a few slits in the pastry, brushing it with 1 tblsp butter and 1 tblsp sugar.

That's it for today y'all! Have a fabulous weekend and thank you for stopping by to visit with me today!
