I would like to introduce to you my long-time friend Jan Taylor. Jan and her husband Mark have both been friends of my husband and myself for over 26 years. Great friends...great times together!
Jan was recently diagnosed with Liver Cancer and needs your prayers!!! This post will go out to my 500+ blog readers, 300+ Facebook friends, and 300+ Tweetin' contacts. I'm hoping that all y'all will remember my friend Jan in your prayers, also her Doctors, and her family.
This is Mark and Jan at my wedding 25 years ago, about the time I first met Jan.
In honor of Jan, I am taking part in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Port Saint Lucie, Florida on April 30th. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events and are 18 hours in length. With God's help, I will be walking in this event starting at 6pm on Friday the 30th of April and hoping to last the entire 18 hours!!! This is the very least that I can do for my friend to support her! During the event, I will be praying very hard for my friend and also would love to pray for your family member, friend, co-worker, neighbor, or anyone you know who is battling cancer. If you provide me the name in a comment or e-mail me, I will certainly place that person's name of my list. 18 hours...Me....God....The Pavement--lot's of time to pray:)!!!
Each of us has our own reasons for caring about the fight against cancer...whatever your reasons, I hope that you will chooose to make a difference by making a donation online to support my efforts. Your donation is of course tax deductible and goes toward the fight to end cancer in our lifetime. Any amount that you can give truly can help save lives!
You may go here to make a donation on my behalf to support the Cancer Society. You may provide your name for the donation or donate anonymously. I NEED YOUR SUPPORT
Thank you soooo much and I will keep you posted on my progress.
I would be happy to pray for your friend Jan & her family, Janice. And I'm very impressed by your dedication to stamping out cancer...that's quite a walk you are undertaking! Good luck & blessings on your journey!
ReplyDeleteYou can count on my prayers for your friend! Thankfully I do not personally know any one battling cancer right now that needs to be added to your list but what a wonderful person you are for the offer.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Joanne

ReplyDeleteI would be honored to pray and support your walk. Faith is built during difficult trials. When we seek Him He never fails and He always shocks us with what He can do in our lives and those around us. Sending strength, encouragement, and comfort.

I have a huge email prayer partner list, so will add her name. Prayers for your great success..... I had prewritten a blog post for today as I am on the road and it is about cancer, too. My cousin, who is mentioned in the post, helped with the design and production of socks that were made specially for the 3 day Komen Breast Cancer walks. They are made by a company called Thorlo and the link is here. They are sold all across the country. I have some and they are GREAT walking socks! Prevent blisters for sure... http://www.thorlo.com/walking-socks.php

My son-in-law (Kevin Sherwin) was at the last part of a long process to get a kidney transplant. He is only 36.
He was almost scheduled to receive his father's (Roger Sherwin) kidney when they discovered a spot on his father's lung. I am waiting to hear about the biopsy results.
My granddaughter adores her daddy. (They are best friends.) I just hope she will not loose those two special men in her life. Logan is just 8 yrs old.
My daughter Angie and Kevin have been sweethearts since they were 16.
This is one of the reasons I want to make the move back to Ca. At least I will be on the same coast.
Talk to you soon ;)
