I'M PRETTYING-UP THE KITCHEN SINK!

I spend a LOT OF TIME at the kitchen sink...don't we all? Everything in my cottage is builder-grade tacky. I'm trying to replace the parts I don't like and make it all my own. Take a look at the boring sink area...

Now...much better!

Love my new Price Pfister 'Tuscan Bronze' faucet, which goes well with the cabinet knobs and other stuff in my kitchen.

From Williams-Sonoma...'Lemongrass Ginger' dish soap, hand soap, and hand lotion. Love this scent y'all!

A rooster-motif scouring pad holder, from HomeGoods.

An iron dish drainer, also from HomeGoods.

LOVE my cute little rooster-motif sink strainer...de rigueur for "The Roost!"

Y'all know my dish towel would surely have a rooster somewhere...Surprise...the floor mat {from Walmart...THAT'S RIGHT, I SAID WALMART} is rooster themed also!

Thank you for visiting with me today!

  2. Looks great Miss Janice. :) Isn't it funny how sometimes the little things make us happy? Like pretty new soap or soap dish? Of course, the faucet is quite an expense and commitment but what a difference it makes!

  3. Your sink makeover is grand! It's amazing how just a few additions can really spruce things up? I especially like the dish drainer. Wish we had Homegoods stores here in Oklahoma!

    Have a wonderful week!

  9. Can you say loverlie? Wonderful tiny change. I bet your sink looks over into a room. Mine does and I need that low faucet. I can't go with one of those tall ones. Gotta love Wally world, I found two pillows for a total of $8.00 on the clearance row, for a new aqua change I made to one of the bedrooms.

  11. I have the rooster sponge holder too in white although I tied a ribbon around mine. Love the dish drainer too. That is something I wish I didn't need because they are usually so ugly.

  12. I absolutely love the idea of the drain in the sink, but my question is: where is your disposal??? I dread bring out the dish drainer (and how pathetic is that since it takes, what 10 seconds?) But to have a really nice dish drain in place all the time, would be PERFECT, but what to do with all that pesky stuff that needs to go down the disposal?
I have children/husband who throw things willy-nilly so ANY advice would be much welcomed. Thank you ever so much from this Martha-Stewart challenged homemaker.

  16. Miss Janice didn't tell her bff she got a new rooster rug. You know I have to get new hardware too when I get my new kitchen counters so I'll be looking around for some similar to yours. It's your fault that I have roosters in my kitchen you know. I'm jealous...can't keep up....whew!

  18. Dear Miss Janice,
I think the small 'rooster' touches are marvelous. What great finds for your kitchen. I have a 'rooster' motif on one wall and various accents around the house. I am a Key West fan. Have you seen the new blog from another 'local'-ThePineappleroom.blogspot.com? She seems to have the 'knack' for southern living also!
Once again, thank you for sharing. It is always a pleasure and 'learning' experience when I visit your site.

  25. Lisa,
My disposal is in the left hand side sink. I have two 'rooster strainers.' I'm the only one who uses the sink & disposal {since in our 25 years of marriage, I'm sure husband may have washed only two or three dishes at the most}, so I'm careful with what goes in my sink:)
