There are so many symbols of Easter and Springtime that we use today. Rabbits, eggs, and chicks are the symbols I chose. The rabbit is a symbol of Spring and fertility; the egg is said to be a symbol of new life and fertility and also a symbol of Jesus emerging from the rock-covered tomb; and the chick...represents new life or rebirth. Okay, so then there's the 'Coconut Cupcake'! Well, if there are coconut cupcakes at my house, it must be Easter!!!
I went to my extravagant baking center at "The Roost" {with my cute little rolling pin and Paula Deen measuring spoons} and tried to come up with a fancy Easter dessert...
Tradition is such a big part of my life...especially when I entertain! So, the house-fav Barefoot Contessa's Coconut Cupcake won out once again!
Here's a bunny rabbit surrounded by my fav cupcake, embellished with Martha Stewart's Easter picks...oh so cute!

Eggs, baby chicks, and daffodils...all symbols of the Easter season.
Good Lord, this bunny looks scary! He might be one of my Halloween bunnies....Lord Have Mercy, I promise y'all he looks cuter in person:)
Baby chicks...they just melt my heart!
The coconut cupcakes are wonderful...they are filled with coconut and topped with scrumpcious coconut icing!
Tuplips...one of my very favorite flowers!
This little rabbit is caged...po 'ole thing!
Thank you so much for visiting with me today.
Don't forget to hop over and visit Marty, the fabulous hostess for Tabletop Tuesday. Her site will be full of gorgeous tabletops from blogland! Thank you for hosting this fun event Miss Marty:)

As soon as you said coconut cupcakes my mind went to Ina's mix! They look so yummy!
ReplyDeleteYour black rabbit looks like it is straight from Watership Down.
They look delicious and the bunnies and chicks are too cute.
ReplyDeleteThose little chicks are just the sweetest things! Love your "Bunny love" look (and I didn't get a chance yet to tell you how nice your kitchen sink looks too!) Your little chicks remind me of last year picking up three little chicks (I thought) and when I got home I realized they were ducks! Never heard of Easter ducks...but I used them anyway....with a little giggle.
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to see something a little different!
ReplyDeleteAs for the cupcakes... well, you know cake of any sort is right up my alley!
Thanks for the continuing support for my Easter project.
Your cupcakes look fabulous, and I don't even like coconut! :) The bunnies are so cute and those little chick are just cute as a button! Great way to bring in a little Easter spirit.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite saying is "paint it black", but bunnies ... now give me some of those cupcakes please.
ReplyDeleteby the way I shortened my label list, before it got out of hand.
You are so clever with your decorating. Your sideboard always looks well dressed!
ReplyDeleteI hope your week is starting out well and goes along beautifully.
I made the Contessa's coconut cupcakes for my Momma the Mother's Day I was pregnant w her grandbabies. Great memories & a house favorite here as well! You and I share a LOVE of Easter. Fabulous, Miss J.!
ReplyDeleteThose cupcakes looks divine! Coconut is my favorite! Where do you get those? Your side board and easter decor is way cute!
ReplyDeleteMiss Janice,
ReplyDeleteYou decorate so beautifully! You should own a shop!
Hoosier hugs!
Cheryl
Great bunny love on the kitchen sideboard. I have a 'black bunny' too that is very cool but does not photograph well at all.
ReplyDeleteSince I have been on Weight Watchers and don't trust myself with baked goods around the house I have not been baking. Maybe I could make a copy of your yummy looking cupcakes and put it in a little frame to virtually enjoy their sweet loveliness ;-)
xoxo
Beautiful display...I love it all! Happy spring! ~Liz =)
ReplyDeleteThose cupcakes look delicious and your decorating is so pretty! Can you believe Easter is nearly here?
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful day!!
Lilly
Those cupcakes look delish. Again, you've done such a lovely job decorating. I really enjoy the little chicks. I missed your last post. I have the same kitchen rug. I knew I liked your decorating taste (wink). I'm looking forward to playing in the flowerbeds today. Hope you're enjoying a beautiful spring afternoon in Florida.

I love everything! I have the 2 bunnies in a cage. I bought mine from T.J. Maxx! Thanks so much for being so inspiring. Have a blessed day!
ReplyDeleteJuanita
Hi Janice, love your bunny. All your pictures are so wonderful....makes one feel good.
ReplyDeleteBarb ♥
Well you could say that black is appropriate for Lent ;-) . I love your bunnies and chicks and eggs.
ReplyDeletePs. I just keep thinking about what you said about napkins with napkin rings in one of your earlier posts and had to laugh at this: http://schematiclife.blogspot.com/2010/03/diffa-and-ad-show.html
In this post from a special show in NYC with special tables you can see the napkins that have napkin rings and notice how they are placed ;-)
I think the whole vignette looks great and I love the black bunnies! Don't have any so I may have to spray paint one.
ReplyDeleteToo cute! Love it
ReplyDeleteYou are just too precious! I love the black bunnies. And I officially am craving cupcakes now. XoXo.
ReplyDeleteI have two black/white bunnies that I'll photograph soon. I always thought Easter bunnies had to be white ... not so!
ReplyDeleteHui Miss Janice! Coconut cake just says Easter, doesn't it? Love those little chicks! Happy week!...hugs...Debbie
ReplyDeleteYour sideboard looks fabulous. All my most favorite things. Bunnies, chicks, tulips and coconut. Now I have sufficiently drooled over all of it. Gorgeous. Thanks so much for joining the party today. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteYour blog is beautiful! You are definitely ready for Easter with those cupcakes. I love coconut! I am making a coconut cake for my Dad's Birthday this weekend & then Easter Egg Cakes next week.
ReplyDeleteTough when i am trying to lose a few lbs...but they will be my reward for not cheating this week!
It must be getting beautiful in FL. I'm sure you'll be celebrating in style. Jennifer aka Gigi
How beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow you definitely gave me some great ideas for decorating my house for Easter. You always deliver with impeccable taste and class!
ReplyDeleteI started a blog that I think you might like too. It combines fashion and giving back to charities. Each week, I will give away 1 Lilly Pulitzer dress (this week it’s the Pink Adelson Shift from Spring 2010) to one lucky follower, who raises awareness of the blog's selected charity through various ways such as tweeting about it or commenting with an interesting fact. I am currently also giving away some great Lilly stationary items too. Please check out my blog at www.shop4charity.blogspot.com because doing good is chic!
Let that bunny out....I can hear him all the way over here saying FREE ME!!! Lovely tablescape. I do not like coconut, but the cupcakes look yuumy. Little chicks are too cute!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty... As always.
ReplyDeleteCynthia
mmmm, mmmm. I love coconut cupcakes! and i love your decor -- we love bunnies (affectionately called "wuggles" at our house), and the chickies, too. But Miss Janice! Please let that brown bunny out of that cage! :-)
ReplyDeleteYour Easter decor is lovely ~ the cupcake additions make it all the sweeter ;) Now I *need* a cupcake fix.
ReplyDeleteJo
You have such a flair for decorating! Everything looks great!(and delish)
ReplyDeleteTagged you darlin'!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteJust adorable and sooo yummy. I really want a coconut cupcake, I think I just may have to whip up a batch for this weekend!
ReplyDeleteJanice everything looks pastel and pretty! Love all the bunnies! Especially the one guarding the coconut cupcakes. I think he is adorable.
ReplyDeleteDon't you just want to hold baby chicks?
Yvonne
A lovely tabletop! Those little chicks on moss are my faves! Also, in the top picture, I LUV that green bunny. Would be cute to dye the coconut green for grass too on the cupcakes. I bet they were yummy!
ReplyDeleteI am just WOW ... I love your photos. WOW!! :)
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon Ms. Janice...thanks for becoming a follower, I was happy to see that! I saw your picture, however now it was gone...either my computer is whacked or I am losing my mind...not unlikely on the last lol! have a great day!
ReplyDeleteHi Miss J,
ReplyDeleteI was expecting pink and green bunnies..
Love your display, and the cupcakes look delicious.
I did several St. Pat's tables with BLACK and green, and they were among my favorites!

ReplyDeleteLordy, Lordy, a truly Southern blog. Please pass the salts, I feel the vapors comin' on!
ReplyDeleteLove the sideboard, but you're right, that black bunny looks a little scarey.
ReplyDeleteI will be getting those Paula Deen measuring spoons!
I can hardly believe it's already Easter!

ReplyDeleteI am in love with your red rooster measuring spoons...where can I find some? I have looked high and low online, but can only find white ones. Any tips?
