Although I'm busy putting out Christmas decorations, I also have decorated for Thanksgiving...the cornucopia is up and the Thanksgiving tree is decorated on the front porch {I'll show y'all photos of the tree this week}.
I've had this cornucopia forever and I just love the colors!
I decided to make the ever-favorite Pinterest "Thanksgiving Blessing Mix" treats to give as my "Friendship Gifts" during November.
I found these cute little cups with the turkey-pilgrim motif at Target. They were 20 for $1. Score!
I added all the ingredients {bugles, pretzels, candy corn, nuts, and dried fruit} and wrapped in cello. Then I attached this cute little tag that shows the meaning of each ingredient!
Tied it up with raffia.
These were very inexpensive to make and a great idea for this season of thankfulness! I made tons of these...some to sell at my garage sale yesterday, some to sell at the Church Bazaar, and of course, some to give as "Friendship Gifts."
I'm thankful that this toxic week is coming to a close. Social media has been so full of negative messages about the election. I'll admit that I'm disappointed with the outcome. With the exception of one Presidential race and voting for a democrat boss, I've voted Republican since I became a registered voter. All of us have issues that are important to us...Lord have mercy, even my husband and I don't agree for goodness sake! However, there is no reason for hate.
I wish that I could share with y'all some of the tacky and mean messages I have seen...from BOTH party supporters. I will just say that I'm hoping that we all {moi included} start the new week off in prayer and good thoughts of hope for a better Amercia!
What a great recipe. I have been so shameful in neglecting the blog world these last few months. Looking forward to catching up.
ReplyDeleteAmen Miss Janice! Regardless of who one has voted for, Mr. Obama IS our President and he deserves our respect. I think many people forget their manners when posting such hateful things.....thank you for the gentle reminder!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet idea to give during the holidays! I am going to borrow your idea!! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteMiss Bloomers
It was a toxic week. UGH. I've come to realize that this next generation is a-okay with us becoming a socialist country.
ReplyDeleteSad...
Your friendship gifts are wonderful! Thank you for posting the link on Pinterest. I agree with your views about the election. Although my candidate did not win, I'm ready to pray for and support the winner as best I can. Have a wonderful week, Janice!
ReplyDeleteOh I so agree with you Miss Janice! Can you imagine what would happen if we all joined in prayer for this great country of ours? We are supposed to pray for the leaders of our country...although I am disappointed with the outcome of the election...I have not given up on this great nation.
ReplyDeleteMiss Janice, your cornucopia is pretty and I realise that you have quite a lot of space for all your decoration. I would not even know where to leave the cornucopia for the rest of the year...
ReplyDeleteI love your idea of "Friendship Gifts" for each season/holiday, and I've started to emulate the idea a bit right out of my dorm room! Your decorations are always lovely. What a role model you are for me!
