I'll be honest with y'all. I'm having a hard time saying goodbye to Governor Romney and especially his beautiful wife Ann. I'll let the photos tell my story.

Ann Romney. Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1997 and Breast Cancer in 2008. What an inspiration this lady is to me. Even with her health issues, she is so full of grace and style. And...the energy, Lord have mercy!!! Le sigh...She would have made a wonderful first lady.

I was soooo close to having a style icon in the White House! So very close!
Still...Ann Romney has many blessings in her life...I wish her and Governor Romney the best and thank them for their service to the Republican party and the United States of America!

ReplyDeleteSo agree, a total class act as is the entire family. She is so full of grace and elegance, she would have embodied what a first lady for the U.S. should be. I am extremely disapointed and still reeling from the results...to me and this is my own personal opinion, its a sad day for America and devastating for our democracy.

My sentiments exactly...will miss them greatly. The whole family is right up there with The Clevers...the perfect family! Ditto to The Enchanted Home...I feel the same way. Let's all look heavenward and pray we get through the next 4 years.

Thank you for this post, Miss Janice. I completely agree with you. Ann Romney embodies grace and style in every way. What a wonderful presence she would have been in the White House. I, too, will miss both her and Governor Romney. I am thankful for the time and effort they gave in order to try and make a change for the United States.

ReplyDeleteAnn Romney is beautiful, but you DO have a style icon as a first lady. How could you not love a first lady in J.Crew? Michelle Obama is well known for her sense of style, and is every bit as classy and graceful as Ann Romney. To imply otherwise just because you don't agree with her politics is not giving her the respect she deserves.

ReplyDeleteI too have found it very difficult to say goodbye to Ann Romney. She is a shining example of what it means to truly be a lady in all respects. She never spoke a harsh word to staff, she was always on time, impeccably dressed and willing to give of not just her time, but she listened to everyone who spoke to her with her whole heart. She was even seen at an event picking up trash, and when reminded that there were people that would do that...she said 'yes and I am one of those people'. She truly is a lady, in both manners, and dress. Please don't dispair...she won't be gone. The family will rest, recuperate, spend time evaluating their next steps and eventually they will be back. You see, public service and giving to the community is in their hearts and they won't be gone for very long.
Mrs. Gingrich, with whom I worked much closer is also someone who would have represented our country with grace and style. While her dress was always a bit more conservative than most people wore...she was always perfectly dressed, accessorized and her manners are impeccable. She once complimented me on a pick jacket I was wearing, and then months later told me...you really do look like a pink ray of happiness when you walk through the door. She is another class act, and someone who would have represented the office of The First Lady with class.

ReplyDeleteThank you for post, she is style grace, compassionate, role model of a mother, wife, grandmother, inspiration in every way. Not bitter, not mean spirited or condescending, heartbreaking to think she won't be our First Lady. Last week, early one morning after a doctor appointment, out for breakfast at the iconic arches, seated in back of us, two women berating Mrs. Romney in every mean way.Instead of being happy with the outcome of their party's win, they chose to verbalize everything we all admired about this remarkable lady. May God continue to bless this country.
