Well, this darling addition to "Miss Janice's Prissy Apron Collection" has been hanging in my closet for almost a year. It's got my favorites...black and white gingham, red ric rac, and of course a cherry motif!
I've been looking for the right time to wear it. Of course, I couldn't put it on to make my Haute Pigs-n-a-Blanket, right? Last night I decided to make a Cherry Cobbler--a very easy semi-homemade cobbler...keeping it simple and all.I lined a deep dish pie plate with ready-made pie crust. The cobbler filling is:
2 20-oz cans cherry pie filling
1 can pitted sweet cherries in syrup
2 tblsp flour
1 /2 tsp almond extract
I topped the filling with another ready-made pie crust and cut a few slits in the pastry, brushing it with 1 tblsp butter and 1 tblsp sugar.
Serving Cherry Cobbler in a prissy cherry-motif apron!
That's it for today y'all! Have a fabulous weekend and thank you for stopping by to visit with me today!

ReplyDeleteI'm making cherry cobbler this weekend to take to a gathering of the gals. Too bad I don't have a cute cherry apron like you do!
ReplyDeleteYou are too cute!

Adorable! But tell me, what's the difference between pie and cobbler? Or are the the same thing but different names?
ReplyDeleteis that a no bake pie?
ReplyDeleteLove it ~ both the apron and the pie!!

LC, I baked it:)
ReplyDeleteSP, I call this a cobbler, but I guess traditional cobblers have no bottom crust and have bread/biscuit top layers.
Mmmmm, that certainly looks tasty. The apron reminds me of my Grandmother, she LOVED making her own apons and had one covered in cherries. I can close my eyes and see her in it, oh how she adored ric rac too!

It's nice to meet you too! Thanks for stopping by my new blog and leaving me a comment. I signed up to follow your blog as well. Looks like your blog is yummy! Can't wait to scroll through it and see more goodies. I love pretty aprons too, btw. I have a burlap apron (that I made) with writing on it hanging on my fridge. I have a few more tucked away as well.
