Yes ma'am, I did hit the ground running today...I ran in a 5k race for the Torrey Pines Institute--Race for Research! I love participating in these 5k events... it gives me a chance to try beat my personal best time! Unfortunately, this morning I did good, but did not beat my personal best that I set for myself years ago back in LaJolla, California. I justified my time this morning by telling myself that I'm getting older...Whatev! I really do feel blessed that I am able to run and hopefully benefit from the cardio workouts!
Luckily, this event was held in my neighorhood, as Torrey Pines is located in the Tradition Village, so I knew the roads...the ones I walk/run everyday! Now, I was a bit disappointed that my friend Stacey wasn't serving Bloody Marys from her front porch...there was only the event-sponsored gatorade stand near her house. Gatorade??? I don't do gatorade!!!
Well anyway y'all..."HERE'S WHAT I WORE"...
It was a chilly 54 degrees outside this morning so a warm-up jacket was in order. I found this cute pink one at Target. The black tee is by Nike and my exercise pants are from Ralph Lauren Polo.
Of course, I had to coordinate my race day look...The 'Pink Pony' cap is by Ralph Lauren Polo and the pink tennis socks are also by Ralph Lauren Polo. I wore my rollring wedding band by Cartier, my pearl stud earrings, my Lilly watch, and my Chanel sunglasses. My running shoes are by Nike and my fanny pack is by Chanel. Yes, I wore a fanny pack!
I always use a Road ID tag...just in case I fall out!
I love this little fanny pack by Chanel. The belt goes around my waist and I let it hang on the side of my waist {not in the back--yuck!} I bought it years ago in the Chanel store in Vegas, I think...maybe Beverly Hills. Anyhoo...these are the items I can't leave home without...even when I'm jogging. Lilly 'Wink' cologne sampler, Pomegranate Oil Lip Balm by Burt's Bees, my Gucci cardholder for ID & debit cards, and my keys--with the cute Lilly shift keychain!

I celebrated finishing the race with breakfast at Bob Evan's. I enjoyed a fabulous meal and had an awesome server! Now, I'm ready to get the weekend started...after a long nap!
Thank y'all for stopping by to visit today and I hope you have a blessed weekend!
WooooHooooo! How fantabulous for you and the cause. Your running outfit is adorable, as usual. Hope the rest of your weekend is divine!

Great job Miss Janice ! You have now just motivated me to hit the gym today - thanks !
ReplyDeleteWow! You make me feel so lazy. Good for you for taking part in all of the runs for worthy causes. Don't forget that Relay for Life season is quickly approaching.
ReplyDeleteYAY FRIEND!! I wish I could have run with you:)
ReplyDeleteAnd I would wear a fanny pack...... IF IT WERE CHANEL! LOL
You looked too cute. i am so excited for you....
and your right, thank God your able to run. So many people are lucky to walk. (like me today, ha)
Have a great weekend and let me know if you splurge on the TB tote.... we can be twinkies!
xo
Congratulations on your race. Love your outfit. So cute:)
ReplyDeleteI'm not calling it a fanny pack when it has the name Chanel connected to it ;-) hehe. Good job Miss Janice! xoxo
ReplyDeleteGood for you!!! You looked fabulous as always. I got a chuckle though when I read you take your debit card with you. I can see it now. You break away from the pack, jog past the boutiques to do some window shopping. . .perhaps maybe even making a purchase while running in place and never missing a beat. . lol. . .just kidding. Wish I had your motivation to run!!!

I am going to have to look for this magazine! It sounds marvelous. I too am thankful to Phyllis Hoffman DePiano - she has revived Victoria - my favorite magazine - I believe she's a marvelous woman - a Kindred Spirit.
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing this,
Kathy
Congratulations. I am truly, truly impressed. I hope you feel that kind of satisfying pride in yourself when you know you've done something unquestionably good.
ReplyDeleteEven in running attire you are a true southern belle!!!

ReplyDeleteGood for YOU! We had a 10k run by our house today and we had fun watching. You looked very cute and I am sure that made it even better.
ReplyDeleteYou are just too cute! I love seeing your 'what I wore' posts (along with everything else!) So stylish. And I agree with preppy 101...chanel & fanny pack don't go together!! SO CUTE
ReplyDeleteCongrats on running in the 5K! Even if you did not beat your personal best you ran in fine style and actually did it. You are my inspiration when I get to feeling to tired to keep going.
