I'm not ALL about roosters y'all! Here's a cute little bunny bookend from HomeGoods.
Some faux veges...
Entertaining and Tablescape books...
More entertaining books and a stash of vino!
Cookbooks and a MacKenzie-Childs recipe box...
I love magazines and keep all my favs so I can refer back to them from time to time. I found these cute magazine folders at Ikea. They are the perfect cranberry color to match the red I use in my kitchen.
I printed out these labels, rounded off the corners, ran the edges slightly dipped in a cranberry inkpad, punched a hole for the ribbon, and tied a cranberry small gingham check ribbon onto the label. Finally, I hot-glued the ribbon on the upper inside of the magazine file.
A tag for all my miscellaneous Phyllis Hoffman Media Publications...
Tea Time magazines...
Southern Lady magazines...
Paula Deen magazines...
Cookbooks and a MacKenzie-Childs recipe box...

These magazine files are available at Ikea and now hold my collection of all the de rigueur mags for a Southern lady!
Now all my magazines are easy to find and within easy reach!
I'm joining Marty over at A Stroll Thru Life for Tabletop Tuesday. Stop in and visit her site to check out the photos of her beautiful kitchen--all prissed up by her friend! There are a lot more tabletop vignettes from other bloggers to see as well.

I love your bakers rack and wish I had room in my kitchen for one. What a great idea with the magazine holders. I always hate to recycle some of my magazines and that would be a great way to keep my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI love the tags on your magazine cases! And I see you managed to work in that sweet gingham, Miss Janice.:) Such a cute idea.
ReplyDeleteI really like your baker's rack. I wish I had the space to have one. You have a nice collection of cookbooks and entertaining books, too.
ReplyDeleteI love the magazine holder thingys!! I sure do need a few of these. How organized everything looks! Very nice!
xoxo

Those tags are so adorable. What gorgeous and functional organization. I LOVE Phyllis Hoffman magazines!
ReplyDeleteI'm like you - gotta have some bunnies along with all the roosters! Your shelves look cute and all organized. I need to bring out some of my books too and display them in my kitchen.
ReplyDeleteMiss Janice, That beats all I've ever seen! I love the idea! Nancy
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your baker's rack set-up! I adore MacKenzie-Childs and buy a piece every chance I can. And I do love your little bunny rabbit. So cute!
ReplyDeleteJust stopping by and thought I'd leave a comment, hope you don't mind.
ReplyDeleteI just fell in love with your adorable tags and magazine holders. Such a fun and clever idea, yet classy looking. Maybe one of the reasons I love the look so much is because 1) I love red and 2) I love gingham!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Linda
Next time I'm in Atlanta, I'm going to have to stop by IKEA and get some of those magazine holders for my Hoffman Media magazines. They are starting to take over, and I don't want to get rid of them.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, I would LOVE to peruse your wonderful collection of entertaining books! The magazine holder labels are very clever!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous display of thing you love and such a cute idea for magazines!! I may have to copy you. Where did you get your punch to round the corners? xoxo
ReplyDeleteI keep my magazines in similar white holders. Mine are in my office though. As are my cookbooks.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing.
I see your copy of Party Potpourri from the Junior League of Memphis. Publications was my placement for several years when I was an active member with them.
ReplyDeleteAngela
Oh my goodness, those magazine holders and tags are genius. The books look great...but, ahem, where are the Lilly books??? hee,hee
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back blogging. Hope all is well!
XOXO
Suzanne
I love those magazine holders! I think I need some!
ReplyDeleteWow, your magazine collection looks amazing! I love the way you have organised them-thanks for sharing this great idea!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a good look through all of those fabulous books too-what a collection of wonderful reading material!
Best wishes for a beautiful week,
Natasha.
Miss Janice -- I love your kitchen! What a cute baker's rack. I love the color of your walls - I've got to take down the wallpaper that I've been complaining about for 18 years and I would love that color. I also have the same dark red touches in my kitchen as well - and loved your rooster rug so much that I now have one -- isn't it wonderful to pick up tips from other bloggers? Thanks for all you share with us! I store my magazines in roll out bins under my bed -- not nearly as pretty as yours!
ReplyDeleteSouthern Lady and Tea Time are the only two magazines I refuse to throw out. I have really old back issues that I still pull out and read. This would really help organize them. What a fabulous idea! I love to collect tablescape books. Speaking of Phyllis Hoffman, I just love Gracious Tables. That's a fantastic book. Thank you for the nice compliment regarding my tablescape. It means a lot coming from such a lovely and sophiciated woman.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday Miss Janice!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of using magazine holders in the kitchen, it is the perfect way to keep wonderful recipes and ideas handy!!
I love it! What a great idea with the magazines! I have so many that I can't part with...I have to try this! Hope your having a great Monday! xoxo
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to keep your favorite magazines at your fingertips...I love the little tags dangling from each magazine holder...
ReplyDeleteAnd, what an apron collection you have, Miss Janice! All very pretty...I need to get in the habit of wearing one while cooking as I am constantly wearing the meal I am making, especially when baking! I'm a messy cook I guess...
Also, have you seen the adorable little animal cracker boxes that Lily has designed?
Love this! Also have red accents in my kitchen. You know, without Home Goods, I'd have a dreadful case of the vapors!
ReplyDeleteYour header is beautiful! I wish I were organized enough to have magazine cases because I find it hard to part with any. I have Gourmet back to 1978! You have, however, inspired me. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
Hi Miss Janice,
ReplyDeleteI love what you did with your magazine holders, they turned out so cute. They are so organized and neat turned they way you have them and the labels are wonderful. Great idea!

Love the magazine filing idea... especially since you've got my fave, Paula Deen, in there! ;)
ReplyDeleteHello Miss Janice!
ReplyDeleteI do love how you keep your magazines and I think I want to try to do that also. What a wonderful idea.
The pretty labels are just wonderful too.
Hope your week has started off nicely.
Great idea on ways to keep your favorite magazines close by without having to look at stacks and stacks of them. Thanks for always sharing your fun (and practical) ideas!
ReplyDeleteHi Miss Janice! I love your bakers rack and how your dressed her up! I love those magazine holders and how you've labeled them! You're the most clever one!

What a great idea to put those cute ribbons and tags on your magazine covers. They look so pretty all lined up on the shelf. Love your bunny bookend. laurie
ReplyDeleteI love those tags you made for the magazine holders! IKEA is great for that kind of stuff. My daughter has the bright blue one in her room and I have the plain white ones in the living room.
ReplyDeleteYour baker's rack is so cute. I love those sweet bunny bookends and the faux veg!
Manuela
