Sunday morning, I attended the first church I visited when I moved here. There's Church "A," Church "B," and Church "C." Church "C" is the closest to my house and I was hoping to like it, but did not. Church "B" is the one I visited many times, but I am now liking my original choice, Church "A". So, it just may be Church "A" for moi.
"Here's What I Wore"...
This is a very Churchy-like suit, by LeSuit. It's linen and very comfortable during the hot weather.
I carried my black Chanel 2.55 pocketbook, with the silver chain and wore my black Ferragamo pumps, with the silver bit. I accessorized with silver jewelry...the silver choker is engraved and I wore Chanel drop pendant earrings. I wore a Tiffany bracelet and a silver Chanel wide band ring, as well as my Cartier roll ring wedding band. My ponytail was adorned with a black grosgrain ribbon bow and I chose Coco Mademoiselle as my fragrance and hand creme...all just very Churchy-like!
After church, I had lunch at home, made a visit to the gym to workout, came back home and got dressed for a neighborhood cookout.
"Here's What I Wore"...
The Pink Resort Capris are by Lilly, as is the Pink & Green Rugby Polo striped shirt. Very preppy...very comfy!
This was a tres casual event, so I wore my Loopy Lilly 50th Jubilee Pool Party flip flops. I wore the silver Chanel drop pendant earrings, the silver monogrammed choker, my Cartier roll ring wedding band, and of course, my Chanel sunglasses (not shown). My ponytail was adorned with a pink grosgrain ribbon bow and my fragrance was Lilly Wink.
This was a covered dish event and I was asked to bring a salad. Not wanting to prepare a dish loaded with mayonaisse, I decided to bring two fresh salads. Look at these cute pink bowls...from Target. They were in the $1-ish section. I just love them!
This is "Miss Janice's Salad"

1 cup shredded carrots
1 cucumber
1 cup cherry tomatoes
Ranch dressing
Cook the corn, shuck, and cool. Peel the cucumber and slice. Mix all ingredients together and serve with dressing.
Thank you for stopping by today. I do hope y'all have a wonderful week! I'll be back next with another "Lilly Photo of the Week."
Oh I'm so sorry your weekend had a rough start! But I LOVE you Sunday outfits! So pretty. Don't you feel like there is something (good) to be said for dressing up for church? I grew up only wearing dresses to church. And men always wearing either a coar and tie or suit. So many churches are super casual- for whatever reason it bugs me. Jeans and church just don't mix in my opinion anyway. Not that anyone cares what my opinion is...
ReplyDeleteCoat and tie...that word should be coat, not coar.
ReplyDeleteMiss Janice, perfectly dressed as always. Love that you included your recipes. I am always looking for something tried and true with good culinary references. ;)
ReplyDeleteYour outfits are as cute as can be. Sorry you had a mishap at the monogram store.
ReplyDeleteI hope you find the right church for you soon.
I sent you an e-mail.
Oh that is the worst. I did not buy a dress because the top was white and the bottom pink flowers etc because I worried I'd spill something on the top. Love the salad! xoxo
ReplyDeletemy mouth is watering Miss Janice- those salads look heavenly! I am writing down the recipe for salad numero uno right now and am forever going to call it "Miss Janice Salad" :) bet it would be great with grilled chicken, fresh raspberries and a raspberry vinagrette as well!
ReplyDeleteyou looked so sharp at chuch- love that you wear your best when you give your regards to Jesus!
kHm
Thank you for the recipes! They both sound wonderful. Your outfits look lovely.
ReplyDeleteLove the recipes! Sorry about the monogramming fiasco - is it fixable? Such a disappointment. . . Have a great Monday! I mailed your swap package today. I will email you the tracking number. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThe monogramming disaster is troubling, as well as the trip to Starbucks. We're speculating here, bu thinking perhaps poor customer service might be involved.
ReplyDeleteBut those salad recipes, yumalicious Miss Janice, thank you for sharing!
May the rest of the week improve, and quickly!
tp
Oh no! I do hope the "monogramming disaster" has a fixable solution! Please let us know!
ReplyDeleteYour outfits are fabulous, as always.
The salads look wonderful! I make a similar salad to the first one, but I use honey toasted almonds instead of glazed pecans (not easy to find these up north!).
I love the TJ's Red Wine & Olive Oil Vinaigrette-purchased a bottle this morning!
Thank you for sharing your recipes! I will, of course, try them over the next week or so.
Have a lovely evening.
Miss Preppy Princess...the Starbuck's "A-hem--Barista" with the jewelry pierced through her lips and hickies on her neck(do people still do that tacky stuff?) was tres rude!
ReplyDeleteFYI to all: Wrong thread color for the monogramming and I'm sure it can't be fixed. You'll see the dress one day in a photo and probably think...hmmmmm, that doesn't really match!
Evening, Miss Janice! Oh poor one! I'm sorry your weekend started off on the wrong foot (I'm saying that because I just love those little pink flip flops of yours!).
ReplyDeleteMy, you must have looked glorious in that outfit for church. Where we live, no one dresses up anymore - just very causal!
And your Lilly wear is just so precious! I can just see you in that cute outfit!
Hope your week is off to a good start!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :0
What a classy church outfit! And your cookout outfit is too adorable! Your recipe for Miss Janice's Salad sounds yummy - I must try it soon! I love pecans and cranberries in a salad.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Your outfits were perfect. I love how you accessorize. Does it take you long to put things together?? Do you change your mind a lot?? Does your husband sit out in front of the house honking his horn for you??
ReplyDeleteI hope your work turns out well.
xoxo
Jane
First, your outfits are very cute. I love your salads too.
ReplyDeleteSecond, I am sorry about the start of your weekend but glad it ended good.
Have a great day,
Cynthia
P.S. I am now pulling outfits together before church too.
Just love the Sunday outfits...so Southern! What a pity, I do so love the 'atmosphere' at Starbucks, sorry yours was ruined and the poor dress, well what can you say, people are slip-shod in their work now....
ReplyDeleteHope the week pans out much better...Bonne Chance
Miss Kara

Thank you for the recipes. They both sound delicious!

Have a beautiful day!
Love Lilly
Not only are you the most gracious hostess, you are the world's most perfect party guest. Your ensembles, as always, are SPOT ON! Will you be my stylist? BEAUTIFUL!
ReplyDeleteYour salads look wonderful. We started visiting churches this past Sunday. The process of finding the right fit does take awhile doesn't it. Hope the rest of your week goes well!
