Let's take a look...The china is Bunny Toile, by J. Willfred and the teapot, sugar bowl and creamer is the Green Leaf pattern and also by J. Willfred. The green moss charger plates were purchased at one of my favorite stores in Collierville, Tennessee--The Fresh Fruit Collection.
Easter Sunday lunch tablescape...
Easter Sunday lunch place setting...
Bunny-fied centerpiece and menu...
Most Southerners celebrate Easter Sunday with an informal lunch, served family or plated-style at the dining room table. I will be serving my lunch at the dining room table, plated-style. (In family-style service, the dishes of food are placed on the table and passed around to each guest. In the plated-style service, the host/hostess places the food on the plates in the kitchen and serves each guest from the left-hand side, beginning with the guest of honor and continuing counterclockwise, serving him/herself last).
Honeybaked Ham
Macaroni and Cheese
Asparagus Casserole
Deviled Eggs*
Croissants
Sweet Southern Iced Tea
~
Coconut Cupcakes, Coffee, and Tea
*The deviled eggs are a Paula Deen recipe for Traditional Southern Eggs:
(Makes 12 eggs)
6 large eggs, hard-boiled and peeled
1/4 cup of mayonnaise
1 1/2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
Salt & pepper
Paprika
Sweet gherkin pickles, sliced
Pimientos
Halve eggs lengthwise. Remove yolks and place in a small bowl. Mash yolks with a fork and stir in mayonnaise, pickled relish, and mustard. Add salt and pepper to taste. Fill egg whites evenly with yolk mixture. Garnish with paprika, pickles, and pimientos. Store covered in refrigerator.
Paula Deen's "Traditional Southern Deviled Eggs", served on my Arthur Court deviled egg tray. All Southern ladies have a fancy deviled egg plate...we wouldn't be caught dead without one. We have the de rigueure to-go deviled egg plates, as well! We just have to.
Dessert and tea will be served from the sideboard..."Coconut Cupcakes, Tea, and Tulips...
The party favors for Easter Sunday double as place cards. These are Martha Stewart cute little pink boxes, filled with green Easter grass and jelly beans (the good kind--from The Fresh Market).
Coconut cupcakes are another take-home gift placed on green shred inside a pink take-out box, adorned with a pink polka dot ribbon.

Thank you so much for stopping by today...I hope y'all have a wonderful Easter and remember to Make it Southern...Make it Memorable.
I love everything about your table. Love the china, the chargers, everything! Your menu is wonderful and you are so right about the deviled egg plate. I have quite the collection. When I had my first apartment in college, my grandmother outfitted me with dishes, flatware, etc. and she made sure I had 2 deviled egg plates - one china and the other glass. I still have them and several others in various patterns now. Of course I have several travel containers now also. Great table and menu! Happy Easter! :D Jewel
ReplyDeleteMiss Janice, You are so inspiring! I can only believe such wonderful planning and such a lovely table comes from a beautiful heart. I even love the bunny as your center[iece. I remember once I had 4 large bunnies and bought a piece of glass to sit on them as my coffee table. Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteHow blessed your family is that you spend time & energy making this most important holiday so beautiful for them. You have thought lovingly of every last detail. I have been obsessed with toile since I was a teenager so this tablescape really was a delight for me. I must say, the tulips were the icing on the cake (frosting on the cupcake)! They are the perfect burst of color & joy to add just the right touch. LOVELY! Thank you for sharing. I wish you & yours a very Happy Easter!

Lovely tablescape. I adore toile and love that you were able to use it for your "Easter luncheon". I really enjoy hearing about Southern tradition from you. We do not make deviled eggs the same way and I have never heard of macaroni and cheese on Easter Sunday! Interesting & wonderful at once!

ReplyDeleteOooh I love those hot pink chargers in that Lilly table picture in the righthand column! :)
ReplyDeleteOh and the movie Metropolitan (not Manhattan as you wrote in my comments -- didn't want you to mix it up with the Woody Allen movie called Manhattan) is good...you'd love it! It's full of prep talk, etiquette talk and deb parties.
This is all so beautiful Miss Janice.

ReplyDeleteMiss Janice...I think I just came up with my Easter Dinner menu...YOURS! Since we'll be at the farm I'll probably go with a little more rustic tablescape, perhaps with some pretty paper plates...am getting ready to go work on my Easter eggs right now.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful Easter tablescape! I love bunnies and toile. Arthur Court is also a favorite of mine. I collect the magnolia pattern. Happy Easter!

Miss Janice, those chargers are just about the neatest thing I've seen! I've never seen any like that, and now I'm going to have to be looking for some. That menu holder is also such a great decorating tool. I've only seen that on your blog. You're going to have me running around everywhere, shopping for all of these treasures you have. Your decor looks beautiful and your food looks delicious. laurie

A really pretty table and a great menu -- I've eyed those plates forever and now that I see how they look on a table . . . hmmmm! Deviled eggs ARE an Easter tradition -- what else do you do with all those colored eggs?
