A SUMMERTIME FAVORITE IN THE SOUTH!

I'm enjoying a quiet day...it's early in the evening and I'm out on the Porch at "The Roost"
--the perfect time of the day here in South Florida. The sun is going down and it's just about as cool as it's gonna get. So I'm having a fresh tomato sandwich, sippin' some Arnold Palmer Iced Tea (1/2 iced tea and 1/2 lemonade), and checking out this new book I received as a gift.

No chips, no salad, nothing but the fabulous tomato sandwich!

By BFF sent me this book by Kelly Cutrone, "If You Have To Cry Go Outside"...Hmmm, she said I need to read it 'cuz it might help me be more agressive. okay. Now y'all, just because I'm an etiquette consultant, that doesn't mean I'm a pushover! So, I thought I was agressive. Guess not:) Miss Teresa Jane, I'm reading.

Thank you for visiting with me this evening. I hope y'all are staying cool!

  5. Love tomato sandwiches. I saw a recipe for tomato sandwiches. The ingredients were tomato, white bread, mayonaisse, salt and a sink. Looks like you eat yours off of a plate instead of over the sink. It's too hot here in Alabama to sit on the porch.

  9. Never had a plain tomato sandwich before! Sounds yummy, do you put a little salt on our tomatoes?

I feel for everyone along the East! Luckily, in Chicago it's hot and humid but tolerable!

    Have a great night! :)

  16. Oh my, a homegrown tomato (skin removed) 2 slices of Peppridge Farm thin white bread, Duke's mayo and a little salt and pepper....pure heaven!

Thanks for the reminder, it's almost 'tomato' time, here up north. We usually eat them in silence, because there are no words!

  23. There's nothing better than a tomato sandwich on a hot afternoon. I believe you've set the mood for today's lunch.

Why is it that having good manners is thought to be a weakness in character? Many times people believe I'm a push over but it's only because they miss my diplomatic skill in sarcasm.
