Deeda Blair

Trying to find style icons for the grown-up girl is not easy!  One of my all-time favorites is Deeda Blair.  The epic socialite is not only known for her fabulous fashion style, but also her impeccable gray hairdo, and most importantly her work as a medical philanthropist.

Not surprisingly, Harper's Bazaar named her as one of the most stylish women of 2013.

Ms. Blair was born in 1931 and grew up in Chicago, attending parochial schools and then on to a two-year junior college.  She lived a vigorously social life and after a disastrous first marriage, she married her true love William McCormick Blair, Jr.

For 37 years Deeda Blair hosted stylish parties in her Washington, DC home.  Her and her husband now reside in New York City.

Although she has been a smoker since the age of 14, Ms. Blair swims daily--keeping her head above the water so as not to mess up her big hairdo!  To help keep her slim figure, she follows a low-carb diet.

Ms. Blair loves Chanel, Givenchy, St. Laurent, as well as designs by American Ralph Rucci.  She would rather have very few clothes and have them be as wonderful as possible.

With her trademark hair, wearing a Ralph Rucci gown.

How beautiful is Ms. Blair's master bedroom in New York...with the hand-painted French curtains?

Although I won't be wearing the fabulous designer ball gowns, I do love to follow ladies who have classic style.  As you can see, her style hasn't changed much since she was young.  Classic style endures the test of time!

Lilly Pulitzer Agenda

Recently I was contacted by Lifeguard Press with an offer to review the new Lilly Pulitzer agendas.  The agendas/day planners are available in lots of cute Lilly patterns.  In the past, I've always gone with a pink & green pattern, but this year I chose the "Tusk in Sun" print because I don't have anything else in the Lilly elephant print...of course, now I have get all matchy matchy and find some more "Tusk in Sun" loot!

The Lilly Pulitzer agendas are my favorite ones on the market.  The 17-month hardcover planner is a must-have for every Lilly lover.  This is the large agenda, measuring 7.35" x 8.75", and the cost is $28.

The full monthly calendar allows you to see the entire month-at-a-glance.

It also includes an annual view for the entire year.

Weekly views allow for day planning.

I can't tweet, instagram, or text without using emojis and I simply love using the Lilly stickers to express myself in the agenda.  I have more stickers from a Lilly sticker book to add to those!

Love the cute astrological section!

There are also tips from the people at Lifeguard Press for alternative uses for the agenda Lilly patterned divider pages later:

~Use the patterned pages as scrapbooking or decoupage paper or make gift tags.
~Cut out and frame the monthly "Lilly-isms" for cute and clever artwork.
~Use the decorative pages as wrapping paper for small gifts.
~This one is my favorite...Use a variety of sizes of hole-punches to create Lilly P. confetti!

Now my OCD, list-making self is ready to begin planning August 1st!
