Southern Belle T-Shirts

Y'all know I like tee shirts with prissy Southern sayings!  Southern Belle has some cute ones I thought y'all might like to see.  I've been wearing their tees for several years.  Over the weekend we took a road trip and I wore my comfy khaki Bermuda shorts, with my newest Southern Belle tee, and topsiders.

On the front it has their cute little Southern Belle logo.

On the back mine says "Southern belles know you love our Southern drawl and the way we say yes ma'am and y'all."

Of course, I just had to wear my G.R.I.T.S. pony cap and my pearls!

Here are just a few of their cute designs:
"Primpin ain't easy!"

"In the South, someone's heart is always being blessed."

"Way down yonder in the land of cotton, Southern belles are not forgotten."

"Pretty in pink, polos, and pearls, nothing compares to us Southern girls."

"Mississippi belles are just like y'all, only prettier."

"Southern belles do their best to never look a hot mess!"

You can buy the shirts online HERE.  They also have a Facebook page HERE.

Happy Birthday Jackie O!

Happy Birthday Jackie Kennedy!  Today would have been her 83rd birthday.  Jack-leen will always be remembered as the pinnacle of beauty, style, and grace.

This week I've been browsing through all my "Jackie" books...I can never get enough!

This book has to be my favorite...It's an entertaining guide that shows how to attain the elegance and practical smarts that defined America's Queen--Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis.

Beauty, style, and grace...Oh, that Jackie-O style!!!
She rocked the black turtleneck sweater!

She was ever so proper that day in Dallas in her pink suit and pillbox hat with pearls and white gloves.

The Jackie O sunglasses...her trademark large and round shades with dark frames...

And, ever the style icon, she loved to wear the Palm Beach Navajo...my favorite Jack Rogers sandals.

Celebrate Jackie O's birthday today with your own pair of Jack Rogers!  Retailing at $105 and available HERE.

Recently I stepped out in style, wearing a Lilly shift with my monogram, carried a Bosom Buddy bag, and wore my lime green and pink Jack Rogers.

Instagram {I'm socialgraces_101} is my new thing...it's THE place to ooh and aah over Outfits of the Day.  If you are on Instagram and are wearing your Jack Rogers sandals, hashtag #lovemyjacks and you might end up on the World of Jack Rogers board like moi!

Be stylish, y'all!

Lilly Nail Art

Let me introduce y'all to Emma.  She's an 18 year-old girl living way up north in Connecticut and preparing for her Freshman year of college in the Fall.  I discovered Emma on Instagram {she's enb300}.  When I saw her photos of her nail art, I knew I had to share them with y'all.  Yes, you can match your nails to your Lilly outfit!  Lord have mercy!

Emma designs nail art in her spare time and being a Lilly-lover herself, the Lilly prints are some of her favorite designs.  How does she paint these tiny designs?  She says "It takes a bit of practice, a ton of patience, and simplify!"

Emma has an Etsy store and if you are interested in having her paint you a Lilly design, you can contact her at Little Polish & Poise HERE.  She's also on Tumblr HERE.

IF YOU AIN'T FROM THE SOUTH...BLESS YOUR HEART!

The most frequent question asked of me by my readers is "What are some books that teach you how to be Southern?"  Well, "Being Southern" is something you are raised to be; however, there are some books that might help you "fit in a little bit better down South!"

"Girls Raised in the South...The GRITS Guide to Life"
~Miss Janice's favorite part~
GRITS Pearl of Wisdom #6:  If you can be ready to go in less than thirty minutes, you probably shouldn't be leaving the house at all!  This is one of my all-time favorite lines.

"Puttin on the Grits...A Guide to Southern Entertaining"
~Miss Janice's favorite part~
Before you move to the South, you simply must master the recipe for the "Baptist Cocktail"!
6 cups pineapple juice
1 6-oz can frozen limeade, thawed
2 2-liter bottles ginger ale
Mix all the ingredients in a large pitcher, chill, and add to a punch bowl {Yes, you will need a fancy punch bowl} with ice.  Sometimes scoops of lime sherbet are floated on the top.

"What Southern Women Know...That Every Woman Should"
~Miss Janice LOVES this book!~
You don't have to be born in the South to benefit from the attributes of the true Southern woman.  Here are some of the secrets from the author Ronda Rich:

~A woman can be both tough and nice
~More flies are caught with honey than with vinegar
~Positive, optimistic attitudes are a necessity of life
~Femininity is a plus in the business and social worlds
~Kindess and compassion are never out of date or out of style

"S.W.A.G... Southern Women Aging Gracefully"
~Miss Janice's fave part~
Southern ladies don't carry purses.  They use pocketbooks!  The pocketbook is part of the Southern lady's personna and of course, must match her shoes.

"Having it Y'all"
~Miss Janice's favorite part!
Make no mistake about it, manners matter in Dixie!  You can be as poor as a church mouse or ugly as a mud fence, but don't ever be found empty-handed of good manners.

~Be humble
~Be courteous
~Behave yourself
~Be friendly
~Be modest
~Say "please" and "thank you" without fail
~Always ask, never tell
~Say "ma'am" and "sir" without fail

"Suddenly Southern"
~Miss Janice's favorite part!
Leave your hyhpenated name at the MasonHyphenDixonLine.  It is said down here that Southern women have two first names and Yankee women have two last names.  It's all about tradition down South, so getting married and not taking your husband's last name--well, it just ain't right!

So, if you're thinking about moving to the South, or you already reside here and just need to brush up your Southern self, these are all great books for Southern girls!

Outfits of the Day

The other day I was reading an article online about how people post the same photos on different social media sites...and that's a faux pas.  Oops, that's what I'm doing!  So, if haven't seen my Outfits of the Day yet...on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram {SocialGraces101}, here's a few from the past week.

Ralph Lauren white jeans, Lilly rugby shirt and cardi, Lilly 'Roped In' ballet flats, seersucker monogrammed hairbow, Rolex Chameleon watch, gold cut out monogrammed earrings, 'Eternity' wedding band by Cartier, and a pink skinny belt w/ a gold frog buckle.

Miss Coco was dressed and out and about this week.  We are both wearing 'Millionaire's Row' by Lilly and I'm wearing a denim Molly B jacket, and Lilly pink mules.   I wore my Rolex 'Oyster Perpetual' watch, silver monogrammed necklace, and 'Eternity' wedding band by Cartier.  I also used my 'Millionaire's Row' koozie.

Dressed in black and grey in the summertime...Lord have mercy!  The shorts are Ralph Lauren, the gray ruffled cardi is J Crew as is the flower belt.  My pony scarf and wristlet are by Coach.  The silver pendant, earrings, ring, and bracelet are monogrammed.  I'm wearing my Rolex 'Oyster Perpetual watch, 'Eternity' wedding band by Cartier, and my black Chanel ballet flats.

Back to some happy colors...pink and orange!  I bought this tunic at the Snapple Turtle in Delray Beach and wore it with my white Ralph Lauren capri pants.  The flip flops and the earrings are both Tory Burch.  The daisy pendant is Lilly Pulitzer and I wore an orange headband monogrammed in pink.

That's what I've been wearing lately.  It's finally getting hot as blazes here in South Florida...now I'm just waiting on Fall!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope y'all are having a fabulous weekend!

Have y'all seen the Cruisey?  It's a koozie with a neck strap that allows you to "cruise" around hands free!  Since I'm always walking up to the village...with a beverage, these are just perfect for moi!

Lilly Pulitzer Shopping Totes

Shop.  Tote.  Reuse.  Be stylish...and oh-so cute!  Lilly Pulitzer has the cutest shopping totes.  They are stylish and sturdy.  Perfect for all that new loot you buy, whether it's from the grocers, Target, or Nieman Marcus!

After a day of shopping, I'm bringing home groceries and some cute loot...in my Lilly totes!

Now y'all know I'm very matchy matchy!  So I simply must carry a Lilly tote that coordinates with my outfit.  The other day I wore this very casual outfit out to go shopping for groceries and other loot.  I wore a simple Target khaki skirt with a white tee and a lime green J Crew cardi.

I wore my comfy lime green Oka b sandals with  navy grosgrain ribbon bows.  {The bows can be changed out, which I love!}

Well, you know my market tote HAD to match my outfit.  I found this cute 'You're Flagged' Lilly tote at Lifeguard Press.  They carry cute Lilly totes...designed to match your outfits!!!

The 'Fan Dance' tote goes well with my pink Lilly tee and white Ralph Lauren capris.

I decided to personalize this tote...love the 'Fan Dance' pattern and when I added my monogram decal from 2PreppyGirls...it made it personal!

The monogram decals from 2PreppyGirls are very easy to apply!

Wearing my Lilly 'Creme Fraiche' shift and carrying the matching tote.  Doesn't everyone?!

'Creme Fraiche'...Lilly Loves Green!

The Lilly 'Queen of Green' is a perfect look for my Lilly 'Green Gingham' skort.

This is one of my favorites and I have 2 totes in the same pattern!  Obsessed.

'Chum Bucket'...this is another perfect tote to wear with pink and green!

LOVE this pattern...'Chum Bucket!'

What to wear with my Lacoste pink gingham blouse and Lilly capri pants?

The 'Just Add Lemon' tote was a nice color to add!  Another precious pattern.

There are so many other totes I still don't have...next on my list is 'Ugotta Regatta'.  Stop over at Lifeguard Press and check out the totes.  Match one up to your Lilly outfits!!!  Then add a 2PreppyGirls monogram decal to make it your own!
