Just Another Posh Weekend!

It's just been too hot to blog y'all! That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!! I know a lot of y'all are savoring those last bits of summer sunshine...but not me. I'm dreaming of pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin loot all over my front porch, spice scented candles, sweaters, tights, corduroy skirts, and all things Autumn!

So, what have I been up to??? Lord have mercy, I had company AGAIN! My Yankee friend Denny was headed back up North to his homeland and stopped in to spend the night. We have known each other...well, a very long time and I always like visiting with him. Friday night we went for a tres casual dinner at Olive Garden. I know some of you might turn your nose up at the OG...but, I love it! Pasta, bread, salad, wine, cappuccino, and a delicious dessert...what's not to like?!

I must tell y'all about a new dessert they offer at the OG...Piccoli Dolci "little dessert treats', layered with cake, mousse, pastry creams, and berries. LOVE these! They are only $2.50 each. Yes ma'am, I like a deal!

"HERE'S WHAT I WORE" The skirt is the precious 'Croc Monsieur' pattern by Lilly and the lime green cardigan is also by Lilly. I wore a white blouse with a Peter Pan collar, and my monogram on the collar...in pink. Love this cute blouse from Land's End. I wore my pink mules by Lilly and carried my Nantucket pocketbook. I wore my pearl necklace and pearl stud earrings and of course my rollring wedding band by Cartier. My ponytail was adorned with a pink grosgrain ribbon bow and my fragrance of choice was 'Wink' by Lilly.

Miss Coco was happy as usual to see her uncle Denny and of course wanted to look her best..."HERE'S WHAT MISS COCO WORE" Her bandanna is the same pattern as her mama's skirt...'Croc Monsieur' by Lilly. Her little collar and leash were custom made in the same Lilly pattern. Her top knot was adorned with a pink and green ribbon bow. Now, I'd love to be able to tell y'all about a fabulous event I attended on Saturday...but, the truth is that I worked out at the gym, cleaned the front porch from top to bottom, and worked in the garden. Posh huh? I'm sure y'all think I'm a boring blogger lately, but I've been doing a lot of organizing and maintenance around the house. My goodness, I'm Spring Cleaning and it's late August!!!

Today, I went to church and "HERE'S WHAT I WORE" The boring beige shift (I don't wear this color much, 'cuz I feel so boring-looking in it) is the same style as the dress I wore to church last week and it also came from Appleseed's years ago.

I think the darling Gucci ballet flats and the Gucci pouchette pocketbook really make the shift a little cuter, don't y'all? I wore my gold monogrammed choker necklace and matching earrings along with my rollring wedding band by Cartier. My ponytail was adorned with a boring beige grosgrain ribbon bow. My fragrance of choice was Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel.
After church...lunch at Panera Bread. It has rained all day long y'all, so cream of chicken & rice soup, caesar salad, and warm bread hit the spot!!! I did a little shopping at Joann Fabrics, cruised Dillard's to check out the fall Lilly loot (of which there were maybe three dresses), then it was back to the gym for moi (hey, I'm 5k training y'all)!

Some comfort food at my dining room away from home...Panera Bread!

Organizer. Fuss Pot. Perfectionist. OCD Person. Stickler for Details. Yes, I am one of those people you may have met before...my house has to be clean and neat, as does my car, the garage, and the yard. I am a neat freak!!! Yes, I am. Sometimes important things don't get done 'cuz I'm organizing and straightening up stuff like a crazy person. I've been that way my whole life. I am almost done with my current round or organizing and cleaning around the house...with the exception of the messy garage--which is next on my to-do list. So, I hope to be back to a regular blogging schedule this week!

Thank you so much for visiting with me today. Have a wonderful week y'all!

I find I can either be fabulous or get my life in order - I just can't do both at the same time...lately I have been getting my life in order so I can be fabulous all Autumn!

I just bought 3 cord dresses today and I can't wait to match tights to them and get on with Autumn!

Little Coci always looks so darling!!! I can hardly wait to get Dolce a little doggie-sister (of course her name will be Gabbana) - but she will have some really sweet girlie girl doggie wear - they just don't make as much fun stuff for little doggie-boys.

Miss Janice you looked fabulous in both outfits ... the neutral one says you are geting ready for a little autumn weather .. my fav season .. so I really enjoyed seeing that one. The pink Lilly mules devine!!

Oh Miss Janice you and I are birds of a feather. I feel the same way about organizing and cleaning. When the mood strikes me I just have to go with it and I just get so caught up in my little projects. I am all about transitioning from summer to fall right now (even though it was over 90 degrees today in CT). To me September means putting away the white clothes and busting out the sweaters.

Love both of your outfits, even if you think that the dress is boring, you look adorable in it! I am just like you, I am always cleaning and organizing, I have to say I am lucky, my "Love" is the same way.Hope you had a great weekend!

Dear Miss Janice,

You could never look boring! Always classy and elegant.

I love being organized, too. Can you share some of your hints in a future post? I know we'd all love to hear.

Fall is almost here....no more 'glowing'. Thank goodness. (Chicken and wild rice soup is THE best at Panera).

Warmly, Kathleen

Hi Miss Janice,
I am ready for fall too. Not winter yet, but fall yes. You're too funny with your boring beige! Your accessories gave the outfit a nice boost and you looked fresh and comfortable for church. Glad you had a nice visit with your friend. Hope your week goes well!

I thought I was the only one anxiously awaiting the first hint of autumn!! Living on the Gulf Coast, I don't see a significant change of seasons, but I do enjoy those milder temps!!

I've had one of those little desserts at Olive Garden. It's just the right size to follow a nice plate of fried eggplant parmesan!!

Take care!!

I read your blog almost daily and love it! I would love to see a picture of the back of your hair with your ponytail. I am in the midst of growing out my hair and not sure how long it needs to be before wearing it up in public.
We are also looking forward to fall here in Maine, it has been in the 90's too often this summer.

Hi Janice! I loved reading how you put all your beautiful outfits together...you tickled me about the "boring" one. LOL I thought you looked wonderful...the shoes and the purse really shone against the beige. My fav was the Lily though...I adore pink and green together! I need to try some of the scents you've mentioned. I used to wear Vera Wang...but it seems to strong to me, now. I'd like something softer...lighter. Sometimes perfumes set off my allergies...maybe a lighter one wouldn't do that.
Oh...soooo cute that you coordinated your furry babies scarf and collar...you are the best!

Miss Janice, I'm so sorry I havent been able to visit your blog in awhile but I got to catch up with you today and I just LOVE all these great outfits you are showing (plus Coco's outfits too although my German Shepherd Dog probably wouldnt look so cute!) I didnt like Eat Pray Love much either (liked the book more than the movie). Thank you thank you for all your great blog posts- I am still an avid fan!

Miss Janice, I totally understood about the cleaning and organizing. I'm a clean freak too. I can't say that's a Southern 'thing' but I think more Southerners are like this because of the weather. Neighbors tend to gossip about dirty stinky houses, easy to have if one doesn't clean in hot weather.

And Miss Janice, you look great, as you always do. Actually, the beige is very nice.

Miss Janice, I think that sounds like a wonderful to spend a week/weekend!
I'd give anything right now to have enough time at my own home to get the Fall Cleaning caught up! (I do Two Big Cleans per year, Spring & Fall), because it keeps things nice! I just can not function in Chaos, and need things put away neatly and stylishly at all times!
