A SUMMERTIME FAVORITE IN THE SOUTH!

I'm enjoying a quiet day...it's early in the evening and I'm out on the Porch at "The Roost"
--the perfect time of the day here in South Florida. The sun is going down and it's just about as cool as it's gonna get. So I'm having a fresh tomato sandwich, sippin' some Arnold Palmer Iced Tea (1/2 iced tea and 1/2 lemonade), and checking out this new book I received as a gift.

No chips, no salad, nothing but the fabulous tomato sandwich!

By BFF sent me this book by Kelly Cutrone, "If You Have To Cry Go Outside"...Hmmm, she said I need to read it 'cuz it might help me be more agressive. okay. Now y'all, just because I'm an etiquette consultant, that doesn't mean I'm a pushover! So, I thought I was agressive. Guess not:) Miss Teresa Jane, I'm reading.

Thank you for visiting with me this evening. I hope y'all are staying cool!

Anything on a tomato sandwich?
Sounds cool, anyway.
Love the mint julep drinks header. Makes me want one.
Trying to stay cool here in the Hoosier state.

Love tomato sandwiches. I saw a recipe for tomato sandwiches. The ingredients were tomato, white bread, mayonaisse, salt and a sink. Looks like you eat yours off of a plate instead of over the sink. It's too hot here in Alabama to sit on the porch.

Never had a plain tomato sandwich before! Sounds yummy, do you put a little salt on our tomatoes?

I feel for everyone along the East! Luckily, in Chicago it's hot and humid but tolerable!

Have a great night! :)

I've gotten 5 tomatoes off our plants and enjoyed every one. Your sandwich looks yummy!
It's hard to stay cool down here when it's 100.
I'll go get some tea and try. lol

You know how much I love reading your blog, so I thought I would tag you!!

By the way, nothing better than a mater sandwich in the summertime!

Oh my, a homegrown tomato (skin removed) 2 slices of Peppridge Farm thin white bread, Duke's mayo and a little salt and pepper....pure heaven!

Thanks for the reminder, it's almost 'tomato' time, here up north. We usually eat them in silence, because there are no words!

Sounds like the perfect meal to end the day with, especially with how hot and humid it has been here in Virginia! Take care!

Morning, Miss Janice! We're kindred spirits - Roosters and checks! How wonderful! I love that gawgeous Rooster pillow sitting in that chair. And we do have the same dishes!! Now I grew up in the good ole south - Alabama - and love tomato sandwiches!!
Enjoy your book and always remember - you can cry tomorrow because tomorrow's another day! :)
Be a sweetie,

There's nothing better than a tomato sandwich on a hot afternoon. I believe you've set the mood for today's lunch.

Why is it that having good manners is thought to be a weakness in character? Many times people believe I'm a push over but it's only because they miss my diplomatic skill in sarcasm.

What a lovely evening. It's been too hot to enjoy our porch here, looking forward from a break from the 100's! I adore tomato sandwiches, I may have to make one for dinner tonight, myself. Thanks for sharing!
