Getting Ready for a Saint-ly Sunday!

I'm getting ready for church in the morning and "Here's What I'll Be Wearing." This is a very prim & proper wool shift with the matching three-quarter sleeves jacket. The dress is from Talbot's...a long time ago. I love to wear the velvet flower pin with it--it's the perfect color for this outfit.

Love this velvet flower pin! I'm wearing this tomorrow, because Southern ladies don't wear velvet after Valentine's Day or before Thanksgiving! {Here's a little etiquette tip: Wear your corsage, brooch, or pin on your left shoulder--that's the proper place!}
I'll be wearing my camel Vara pumps, by Ferragamo and carrying my Louis Vuitton pouchette. {I must be honest with y'all--this not my pocketbook of choice for this outfit, but I simply cannot find a camel color designer bag to match the shoes...so, I may just leave it in the car!} My earrings are by Givenchy and I'll wear my rollring wedding band by Cartier. My perfume and lotion of choice--Coco Mlle., by Chanel. My ponytail will be adorned with a gold tone barrette, by Chanel.

I love this little dress...it's very Southern lookin'!

After church, I'll be off the gym for a good workout so that I won't feel so guilty about eating the junk food I'm preparing for Super Bowl grazing!

Thank you for stopping by and I'll be back tomorrow afternoon with my Super Bowl food setting...nothing big y'all!

Don't you look cute!(as always) -- looking forward to your Super Bowl spread. Our services have been snowed out for two weeks in a row now. No cute outfits for me...just snow shoveling ones!

I never knew that about velvet! I'm not much of a velvet gal anyway, but it's good to know!

What a beautiful outfit. I'll be glad when I can stop wearing my Nike's so that I can wear dresses to church. I'm like you, I don't wear pants to church, but right now, I don't have a choice.

My mom is obsessed with Talbots (she hardly buys anything elsewhere) and I always think that it looks so classic. This dress is no exception! It is a great color.

Looking great Miss Janice. I did not know that about Velvet. No problems here though as we usually only wear it for winter formals, Christmas dresses for our little Southern Girls, etc. Have a great day!! xoxo

Hi Miss Janice! Yeaa our fashion show is back!!! I love this outfit; especially that it is wool! This would make a great travel outfit and I could see the jacket with a nice pair of slacks!! Love it. I never gave velvet that much thought but I guess like the when to wear white rules this makes sense too! You look adorable as ever which that elegant touch! Hope you enjoy your day. Sincerely, Jeannette

Wow, I didn't know that velvet had such a short season. Is it a bit longer in the North? I would guess October through March?

So good to see you back Miss Janice. Thank you for the reinforcement of the guideline for wearing velvet. I follow it but when questioned did not have the answer for where I learned it.
Also, I can relate to not being able to locate a good camel pocket book.
xoxo.
