I'M IN A REAL TIZZY

Y'all may be wondering...Why hasn't Miss Janice posted her "Here's What I'm Wearing" posts lately? Well, it's that strange time of year for me...the time from Labor Day to the first day of Autumn. This is the time of year that I have absolutely nothing to wear!

I wouldn't be caught dead in white shoes now. And, even though it's 90+ degrees outside, this Southern lady just can't bring herself to wear sandals, even in South Florida. Can't wear linen now--so that's out also. Too hot and too early for wool. No corduroy--that would just be totally ridiculous. Good Lord, what to wear? Thank goodness my mama, Miss Pauline, talked me into investing in some Austin Reed separates a few years ago. Mama calls 'em "all weather clothes"...clothes you can wear anytime of the year!

Today I attended the Stuart Women's Club luncheon and "Here's What I Wore"...

The navy double-breasted blazer is by Austin Reed, the hot pink silk blouse is by Austin Reed, and the ivory (not white, y'all!) slim skirt is also by Austin Reed. I accessorized with a St. John gold choker necklace, gold Givenchy earrings, and my Cartier roll ring wedding band. I wore my ladies-who-lunch shoes, Navy Varas--by Ferragamo and carried my navy Ferragamo pocketbook. My nail polish was "Pink Mink," by Chanel and my lipstick was "Goddess Glace," by Chanel. Lilly Wink was my fragrance of choice today.

Y'all, Austin Reed separates are a great investment and may be found at upscale Dillard's and the Barrie Pace catalogue online.

Now don't forget to enter my Southern Lady Magazine giveaway. The winner of this giveaway will be announced this Saturday...good luck!

Miss Janice, would you be so kind as to share with us a picture of your wedding band? I read "Cartier roll ring" every time you post I "What I Wore" and it sounds just lovely... but I've never seen it!

I'm newly married so wedding rings must be on my mind!

AugustVows,
My wedding band is in the second photo...to the left of the lipstick tube. Next time I do a post about what I'm wearing, I'll do a single shot of the ring just for YOU:) I love it!

Love your outfit! It's perfection for this time of year and I'm sure also great for traveling!
I love the care you take in dressing.

Yes, Austin Reed is perfect transitional wear! Love your choices! I have found that off-white corduroy or pastel corduroy works well for this time, too!! I remember my mother always talked about wearing "dark" cottons when fall arrived! Funny how those expressions stick with us! xoox

Wow Miss Janice. I'm truly impressed with your dedication to fashion rules for Southern Ladies. I'm sorry but I have to break the sandals rule b/c it's just too stinkin' hot! Thanks for sharing another perfect fashion ensemble! I love how you even mention the nail polish and lipstick colors. I love Chanel makeup!

I've been thinking about investing in some Austin Reed separates, especially the skirts. I may have to hit Dillard's next time I'm in Huntsville (there is no Dillard's in Birmingham).

You always wear the perfect outfit. I need to follow your advice and invest in some Austin Reed.

What great transition pieces! It is just so hot down here in South Florida, and although I want to wear my fall clothes, some days I can't help to put on a sundress!

You are a true southern lady! Your clothes are just stunning. I'm breaking alot of rules!lol...I live in a small hick town where everyone wears t-shirts, capris and sandals. The biggest thing here is Wal-mart! I've seen people in pajammas there!!! It's just awful!

These seperates are the perfect answer to the dilema of what to wear during this off time between the end of summer and the start of fall. Lovely outfit as always Miss Janice!

If I work at home should I wear my ivory slippers all day instead of my white ones now? Doesn't Mr. Janice have that same wedding band? hee hee

Miss Janice said...

Miss Teresa Jane, of course your slippers should be ivory after Labor Day! And yes, Mr. Janice wears the groom's version of the Cartier roll ring wedding band!

Miss Janice, your outfit is looks so classy, I will be checking out Austin Reed per your recommendation. Is that a clothing stand holding your outfit? How fabulous! I've always wanted something like this that I could place my next day's outfit on after putting it together in the evening.

Morning Miss Janice! I too have trouble with this in-between weather/season and agree white is out (even though white shoes would have been perfect with my yesterday's outfit!lol) Love your classics here! Perfect choices as always! Hopefully you will have courdoroy weather soon!lol Have a great weekend - Sincerely, Jeannette

Early fall can be challenging even up our way. It tends to be very cool in the morning (40s-50s) and then often warms to the 70s! Layers are the key here.

Just commented to my hubby today about why I hate tweener weather: it's too hard to dress! You pulled it off - flawless as always!

Suzee.Renee, yes that's a clothing stand that I used to display some of my "fashions." I bought the stand at Homegoods a while back.
