Does Miss Janice Use Paper Plates?

Well, it's time for Tablescape Thursday and I just didn't have a thing to share today. It's been one of those days...running here and there like a chicken with my head cut off! So, this will be something different for y'all!

People often ask me, "Do you ever eat off of paper plates"? My answer is, "absolutely...but they must be stylish"! Actually, I love to purchase paper products with cute designs...So, when I'm busy, I just have a quick lunch or light dinner served on paper plates with paper cups, set on a serving tray.

Stylish paper products, pewter flatware, and a cloth napkin...perfect for a sandwich and some Southern-style potato salad!
This pattern is perfect to use at "The Roost."
Of course, my beverage napkin coordinates...
I'm ready for a quick bite to eat and to sip some iced tea from my "Weekend Waterford"!

Y'all simply must know that my table settings are not fancy all the time at "The Roost," but they must be a little stylish!

Before you rush off to Susan's for some fancy tablescapes, does anyone know where my friend Teresa Jane can find this cute "Create" plaque?

Hi Janice...this is sooo cute...you need to link it to TT today! I should have known even your paper plates are stylish and wonderful! :-) Susan
P.S. The letters look like something Hobby Lobby might have...but I'm not sure.

Hi Janice! I love your paper plate tablescape. Only you can make it look so elegant! I'm showing a Valentine tea table and ignored one of your rules! YIkes!! You'll have to come and see me. After I downloaded my pictures - the rule slapped me in the face. I'm begging for forgiveness, oh Mistress of All Tea Knowledge!lol

OOOO, darlin', you don't know how happy I am that you posted this about using paper. I LOVE pretty paper plates and napkins...yes, I, too, like to be stylish. I will admit to having just the cheap, white paper for hubby and I when we do quick meals and on the go to all the basketball games our grands are playing...On the whole, however, I do love the pretty ones!!

Ms. Janice,
Who says you can't have a lovely dining experience eating off of paper?! Love those roosters--they'd look nice at my roost, too! The napkins are especially cute. Adding real flatware is just the right touch. Love it.

Blessings,
Linda

Paper can ALWAYS be chic! We use it often and the cleanup is SO easy too. If you have a local Homegoods check them out ASAP. They just a new shipment of Caspari paper products in. I really hit the jackpot yesterday!

Also, so sorry to be behind on emails, but I read yours and go ahead with your post/note. I am not connected in any way at all and am SO sorry this did not go as planned for you!!

Hi Jancie dear...
My word, why would anyone eat off of just plain white paper Chinet....one must have style even if it is just for oneself, I believe. I ALWAYS dress up my dinner ware. I even have those plastic sectioned "school trays" for the garden dinners. I do so love the weekend Waterford! How fabulous......I got that book on Southern Women you recommended. LOVE IT!!
Love you.

I think Teresa Jane should try Steinmart or Home Goods. How's she doing, by the way? I love your paper setting, but the "weekend Waterford" was my absolute favorite. The checked tablecloth & rooster napkins were also nice touches. You can't go wrong w/ toile.

I wish I could say that I know where to find that plaque, but it's cute like your pretty paper plates (an alliteration, awesome!- again!)

I love anything with roosters, but am very picky. I like yours, even though it's paper...

Thanks for sharing, Carolyn

I believe in matching the table setting to the occasion. Sometimes you should use your finest while at other times "ultra" casual is alright.

I loved your tablescape. I have some very pretty plates and napkins that I have taken in to a Bible study group at church. Tuesday morning is a good place to get them inexpensively.

Hi Miss Janice! Well those are the prettiest paper plates I've ever seen!!! I do love good quality ones and often give them in a basket to my Mother-in-Law because she uses paper plates for many functions. I always try to coordinate the pretty napkins and the right size plates for the occasion. She loves them every time. I've even brought them in lieu of a dessert, etc. I couldn't see the picture that your friend was asking about (the plate) blogger pics aren't coming up on many sites I've visited in the last l/2 hour! Well have a wonderful weekend!!! I survived my first week of work but am very very tired!lol Sincerely, Jeannette

Oh, Miss Janice! You've just sparked my memory to all the pretty paper products I've got in my drawers!!! I guess they'll be showing up from time to time! I, too, love to collect beautiful paper plates and napkins for those times when "real" dishes just aren't practical or necessary! Yours are lovely...I love toile...a pretty setting for one!
Have a fabulous weekend!
;-D

Hi Miss Janice...If you hadn't told us these were paper plates, I'd never have known...BTW, I fear I have been making a huge error in the placement of my napkins when I place them under the flatware to the right...should I place them to the left under the forks? I love learning from you! ;-) Bo
